We're in that process here, too. It's why I'm watching the coronation on Britbox instead of on the ABC where there are people moaning on about how the Crown represents invasion and stolen land etc, etc. I just want to say, today it's not all about you.

Yes, Travis. The Law is an ass.

Having said that I don't feel sorry for him (and I don't), his subsequent actions do make a lot of sense in the light of this stitch-up.

Exactly. He's completely reprehensible, but his subsequent actions make a lot of sense. A military man brought down by the thing he lived and ate and breathed. Nasty.

He brought it on himself. And Servalan made sure he did.

Unfortunately, that's the risk when you're part of the problem.

Thank you for that. Tourism does at least as much harm as colonialism did.

Indeed. Romans go home. And Celts, and Angles, Jutes and Saxons, and Vikings, and Normans...

Whoa! This is a bit happy-clappy. Actually, there's a very fine, feathery Servalan dress there.

Recently heard someone bemoaning colonialism, and the question 'what have the Romans ever done for us?' came to mind.

Well, fellow travellers, time to retire to the other watching? An interesting juxtaposition of watches there. And now we know a bit of a spanner has been thrown in the works. Servalan is a real force to worry about, Travis is the proverbial loose-cannon (not to mention, 'loose-canon'Wink, and heck, Blake, what did you have to make that useless attack for?

Yes, but you have to have diversity, even if it makes no sense. The feathery frock was nice.

My father always used to say Romans go home. It was one of our archaeology jokes. As for that particular Monty Python quote, yes, it is the title of one PhD thesis that I know of.

Trial sets up most of what happens in the rest of this series, if not more. Great episode.

Would be interesting to write an AU where he didn't.

Weren't all his attacks useless in the end?

Interesting interlude.

And as for Crowns of Thorns just being mentioned, Ziziphus spina-christi is bloomin' nasty, especially when you're field-collecting.

I wonder if Servalan had any kind of inauguration as President?

Comes down to MsVirn's comment: then you'd have to make ALL his attacks not-useless. And there would go the plot.

OK, time to stop trying to do too many things at once. Hope you enjoy the rest of today. Don't suppose you get the extra holiday on Monday downunder, but we Brits deserve it. Until next time, rebels.

Our school orchestra and choir used to do Zadok the Priest on every possible occasion. I can't stand it, but it is interesting to hear it actually performed well.

I am definitely taking the holiday, Ms Virn - I'm finding I'm still getting very tired when I wouldn't expect to, so I'm taking every holiday I can get! Still, I de-ratted the shed last week, and it was less ratty than I expected, which is something. See you all next week when I will actually be watching.

Something on which for Blake to reflect: heavy is the head that wears the Crown.
