Have you ever met a good man?? Anyway, define 'good'.

Deluded.

Do you not think that cynics are equally deluded?

They only end up that way after seeing that people are being kept in the dark and fed s***

I think that if you look only for dark and shit, you end up incapable of seeing anything else.

Well said.

Nobody is born like that; they are made, and with good reason.

I once worked with a lady (cynic?) who claimed she was a mushroom because she was kept in the dark and people shovelled s*** on her.

I like this bit where people are talking across each other. Doesn't happen often on TV because the writers think their scripts need to be heard. Sometimes a bit of reality going on in the background makes everything better.

It was the 70s. We weren't as bothered then. Today, all the young things have their fake things popping out. I know what I think is obscene.

I see from today's long list of people (SEVEN!!) to whom I now need to send Welcome or Welcome Back letters, that at least one of them is Australian.

Awesome. Please invite them to say hello to JD, Obsidian or myself, we’re trying to find as many Australians as we can.

That's why I said it: mushrooms.

I like this whole bit and agree about the scripts. Often they can seem very stilted when each person says their bit without there being any interjections, which would be normal.

Not much else either if she could get away with it. Got it, flaunt it, I think was her approach. Can't fault it.

I am perhaps conditioned by never having had it in the first place. Sort of like a cynic, I see only the bad.

Another of her favourite phrases when asked to do anything was (in a bored voice) 'Is this strictly necessary?' Such a joy to work with!

I've never had it either, so don't flaunt it.

Cynics don't see only the bad, they see the lack of balance, and the most cynical on the planet right now are those who make money out of misery. And there are many of them: the entire Military Industrial Complex to begin with. Rupert Murdoch right up there.

Only if he was being Blake. Gareth was a big friendly teddy bear! Especially if near a bar. (I met him at a B7 con).

I would feel really awkward meeting actors from B7, even if they were friendly (as I am sure they all are).

I’m lucky enough to have met both Sally and Jan. They were both so lovely - and so relaxed. They both made me feel as if I had known them forever.

Haven't met an unfriendly one, though Stephen Grief was snarky about Australian accents. I used to speak RP as my (English) mother did and as he did, but decades around Australians does tend to affect one.

My father and brothers were/are well over that height but not as bulky. Gareth did expand a bit. Smile

Oh of course! I had forgotten Shadow. But that's going to the other extreme - I was thinking of a planet where the weather is like a pleasant day on Tenerife . . .

No, which is why I am a bit "oh, really?" when reading fanfics that have our heroes having R&R at the beach. Nasties appear, of course, but still...
