Rewatch Downunder Saturday 24th February A8 Duel
M1795537OCVirn
Starting at 8.30pm Downunder and 09.30am in the UK.
But don't get too attached to those times, they will be changing soon!

A8 Duel
Series 1 seems to have been going on for ages and we're only at episode 9. But here we have the whole idea of Rebels vs Federation in a nutshell. Each side has its champion, and surely it is better and safer for everyone else if they fight it out with each other?
It might have worked: this could have been the final episode. But of course, Blake has to claim the moral high ground and spoil it all.

He ‘takes the moral high ground’ because that’s what good people do.

I hope everyone’s well. I’m looking forward to this episode.

Well well, we have a (misguided) Blake supporter. Blake is a terrorist and murderer, no good-er than anyone else. Even if his 'cause' was right or good, the end does not justify his means.
That said, he's also a bit of a charmer, so I'm not surprised people are taken in. The fact that he's been on our WANTED list for a very long time should have warned you about him.
That said, Hi, Tyce!

Hello MsVirn, Tyce. Please take me away from my current headaches and let someone else have a tough time instead. Unfortunately, it might be a mutoid who gets it in the end.
Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Poor old Obsidian! Sorry to hear your head is giving you problems. Let it watch B7 for a while: that should help.

Have you ever met a good man?? Anyway, define 'good'.

My head has too much going on in it is the problem. I'm hoping to be swept away into Space.

Isn't it amazing how they keep coming across 'Earth-type' planets? With the same sort of gravity and breathable atmospheres.

I can just see dropping in on the odd planet on the off-chance it won't swallow you up.

Hello everyone - late as usual. I'm sorry to hear about your problems, Obsidian - hope this episode helps, although there isn't a lot for Avon to do here.

And Ms Virn, would you really want the series to end after we have seen Servalan only once?

Do you not think that cynics are equally deluded?

Ah, has ever been the same. Surely 'Lost in Space' taught them long ago that there are always dangers to be had.

Perhaps Liberator is programmed to look for them? They are away of the difficulties of being in space for too long, are they perhaps looking for a base?

They only end up that way after seeing that people are being kept in the dark and fed s***

Wouldn't mind seeing the series (as it is) end if it meant the end of the rebellion. We could carry on with a new series demonstrating how She and Her Federation assist various planets and populations to a more civilised and orderly level of peaceful society.

I think that if you look only for dark and shit, you end up incapable of seeing anything else.

Absolutely no idea. I've always wondered but expect it's only because green seems revolting. Why blood serum for a human would be green could only be because it's dyed to denote something intended only for mutoids.

I see from today's long list of people (SEVEN!!) to whom I now need to send Welcome or Welcome Back letters, that at least one of them is Australian.

A friend was showing off her bosom today and she could definitely have done with a new bra! This is someone who, at 76, refuses to buy any new clothes. Hmmm.

I once worked with a lady (cynic?) who claimed she was a mushroom because she was kept in the dark and people shovelled s*** on her.

I like this bit where people are talking across each other. Doesn't happen often on TV because the writers think their scripts need to be heard. Sometimes a bit of reality going on in the background makes everything better.

It was the 70s. We weren't as bothered then. Today, all the young things have their fake things popping out. I know what I think is obscene.

Awesome. Please invite them to say hello to JD, Obsidian or myself, we’re trying to find as many Australians as we can.

That's why I said it: mushrooms.

I like this whole bit and agree about the scripts. Often they can seem very stilted when each person says their bit without there being any interjections, which would be normal.

Not much else either if she could get away with it. Got it, flaunt it, I think was her approach. Can't fault it.

I am perhaps conditioned by never having had it in the first place. Sort of like a cynic, I see only the bad.

Another of her favourite phrases when asked to do anything was (in a bored voice) 'Is this strictly necessary?' Such a joy to work with!
