If you were making an updated Blake's 7, I think you would have to use the same level of technology and explain it - Federation paranoia about integrated computer systems, perhaps, and perhaps justified by some earlier catastrophe. But why remake? The original is just fine. Hi AnneA. How are things this week? As regards updating, I have absolutely no desire to see it at all, but all those younger folks out there on FB keep wanting it. No imaginations, that's all. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

I tried writing a PGP story once. Frightened myself so much I haven't finished it. Yet. Blake - you ARE wasting your time anyway. This their first REAL venture against the Feds and it's quite amusing how dithery are our heroes. Not exactly the team to bet on yet. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Sorry I am so late. I was late anyway, but a crucial extension lead seems to have blown, so I have no dvd player and no internet. I am typing this on my phone. Good grief! We're lucky to have you here at all! "You're not sulking, I hope?"

I suppose it's the world as it is now. If you were remaking x, who would you cast as y is a popular game. And if we are thinking in terms of PGP, which we all seem to be, we are probably as guilty of it as anyone. We can see how technology has moved on, and we decide how to accommodate that. |

And his 'gang' don't do what they're told (looking at you, Vila) so Blake learns he might as well do everything himself. "You're not sulking, I hope?"

Yes, I think it was probably overloaded - at least that's what I hope. But I will investigate later. Meanwhile, where are we up to (I am not watching at all)? |

Wow. Jacks was SO young. And brilliant. Sorry you can't see this, Anne. she's just told Bercol and Rontane she's appointed Travis to SLD Blake.

And if we are thinking in terms of PGP, which we all seem to be, we are probably as guilty of it as anyone. We can see how technology has moved on, and we decide how to accommodate that. It's awful, really, because of the idiot people who are chosen to fill those roles. Interestingly, a lot of them are way too old, which tends to tell us something about the upcoming "talent". I wouldn't want to make the technology too much like now because it defeats the whole 'futuristic' notion. As you said before, there needs to be a reason why the technology isn't as 'advanced'. Very few people have any concept that civilisations in the true sense (i.e., having cities) have risen and fallen and that some advanced technologies have been lost or not built on. It's all about need, and if a culture doesn't require something, it doesn't retain or develop it. I can easily see that, but haven't yet thought of the way to approach it. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Yes, she looks like such a sweet young thing, but then she speaks in such sweet imperatives and manipulative strains. Poor Rai. I will finish his story eventually. And now she's sorting out Rai. She flirts, he is negative about Travis. End of friendship. Possibly end of Rai.

I suppose I was thinking of the reboot of Battlestar Galactica, where they decided that complex computer systems would be too easy for the Cylons to take over. |

Cylons are the pits. Oh yes. I didn't really like the new BSG - I certainly didn't rave about it the way many people seemed to - but it is interesting to see how it handled the problem. |

Servalan seems to take exception to his eyepatch - hasn't she seen him since he had it 'done'? Ready for that clever bit of direction where the dialogue switches from Travis to Blake? "You're not sulking, I hope?"

Talking about how to handle something, I've got a rock for Travis' laseron destroyer, but how to do the ring is bothersome. Ring 1 or Ring 2? Haven't decided yet.

Surely Earth interrogation systems wouldn't work the same on an Auron?

Speaking of new members, I see that the newest one is called Timelord - we do seem to get a lot of Dr who fans who think they might be into Blake's 7 as something from the same stable. |

Could it be it part of the glove as well? This one is clearly a ring made out of some kind of modelling clay. Precious metal clay seems the obvious medium to use, but making rings – ugh! So few of the newbies actually contribute to the Forum. Such a pity - for them. Perhaps it's because we use more words here than images (see earlier). "You're not sulking, I hope?"
