Is that last line a seasonal reference to 'It's a Wonderful Life'? I don't really see this lot as angels - Avon sent to earth to stop me committing suicide would be something to behold!

Imagine if the movie was about Avon instead of George Bailey. "If it wasn't for you, the Andromedans would have conquered the galaxy... Servalan would have the tachyon funnel... there wouldn't be planets full of babies from Cephlon and Auron..." etc.

Ha! There's a fanfic right there. I might just write it.

1. You write some good stories.

Thank you.

Hi Obsidian, good to see you too. I hope this episode & chat also cheers you up.

Great British Blake Off - "Run, rabbit, run, rabbit, run, run, run."

Joe Dredd
"The pattern of infinity" - great line.

Obsidian
Avon is NOT a psychopath, though he probably feels like one. He's got a bad case of the hump too.

They've all got serious battle fatigue, him and Vila most of all. Blake has it as well.

I managed to see "Julius Caesar" (1970, Gielgud, Charlton Heston) earlier in the week. Michael Keating is in it, looking much like he's just stepped out of The Sunmakers (though that's, what, four years later?). Master S Pacey is in it too, as a young chubby(ish) cheeked lad (Lucius).

I'd love to read it!

Why did the Mexican push Arlen off a cliff?
Tequila!

One day I will finish my story about it. January is beginning to look full. I thought of trying to finish it for the Advent Calendar but there was no way. Instead you got a silly PD pic. It's terrible when you're ready to finish something but other things are nagging.

Orac is wearing his seatbelt.

Clunk click, every trip.

(Does anyone's seatbelt actually go clunk?)

Oh excellent. You have to tick off all the other people in it who are also in B7. It's quite a role call.

Master Pacey is also a a very clear indication that SP's hair was permed for B7 (mine was at the time, too) because in the film it's straight.

Way to go, Slave. Save the big news for last.

I see Blake uses the same "I'm undercover, should I use a pseudonym?" strategy as James Bond.

The old ones used to. We had a Chrysler Royal (end of 50s/beginning of 60s). It had them. They definitely clunked.

The crew have just convinced Avon he's the only one who can do the undercover mission this week.

He's putting on the ballet tutu as we speak.

I think they did in the seventies. A simpler age . . .

Skipping hand in hand across the lanscape?

Deva as the Voice of Reason. Like Avon.

Blake: "He didn't have price..." GT sounding positively Welshly Welsh for an otherwise Welsh word, as with J L-Price.

When he tells Tarrant to hold still he sounds even Welsher! But yes, Blake needs an Avon and subconsciously seeks one out - I like it.

I soooo like David Collings. Fell for him in Scrooge in 1970. I hope they show it again this Christmas.

The sound design is really good in this one. I love the burble-y computer bank noises at the very end. Right now I'm listening to the quiet howling noise inside Scorpio (Engines? Atmosphere?) and the keening pitch of Scorpio as heard from down on the ground.

Now silence, but for Orac and another quiet 'atmosphere' noise in the plantation forest.

Someone to TRY to keep him on the straight and narrow. Deva knows Blake has lost it as well.

He's excellent! It was only this year I realised he was the voice of Monkey in "Monkey", the Buddhist comedy/adventure serial that used to be on the ABC around the same time as Doctor Who and the Goodies.

It is excellent, and does make such a difference.

Tarrant is starting to catch what the other blokes have. Throwing himself away – or trying to – and becoming cynical because he's lost so much and is weary of it all.

Oh really? Only now? I've known for ages. I loved Monkey back in the day and can still sing the theme song. Bunch of tragics, that's what we are.

It was that or me attempt to rewrite Blake's dialogue in really dodgy Welsh,

"Look boyo..."
