I hope Avon doesn’t get hit by that sword, it looks like a big one. LOL

The usual domestic hairdryer... Actually, now I think of it, it looks like one of the heating devices used by painters so that they can scrape back paint. Essentially a hairdryer only in boy shades of blerrgh.

My dear husband is trying to get back 'up north' after a week in Brighton. His first train was cancelled. Now he's on one that goes as far as Preston (over 100 miles south of here) but trains north of that have been cancelled because of 'bad weather'. OK, it's raining a bit (again/still) but it's no worse than usual. Guess it's going to be a long day.

We have a large sword here. No idea where it came from. Amongst David's collection of nasty weapons hidden behind a door.

Would cause rather more damage if one tried using it to dry hair, though.

Is that the train that goes through Lancaster? If so, been on it. Preston is not where I'd like to be stuck.

Yeah, everything from the basic aboriginal nulla nulla up to the percussion weapons. No plasma guns yet.

I was helping Mum clean out the house of one of my great aunts years ago I lifted up some miscellaneous items and underneath was a rifle. Fully loaded. That was more of a nasty hidden weapon that I would ever want.

Fully loaded is not a nice surprise.

Exactly. The bus station there is even worse than the rail one. If he could get to Lancaster he'd be OK, because there are 'local' buses from there to here. Or he could just hang out at our daughter's house and try again tomorrow.

Only one pack left. And the nearest supermarket doesn't stock them. I have to get them delivered, or travel to Kendal.

I understand the situation. My second year in Canberra, my parents sent me a carton of Samboy barbeque crisps from Brisbane because they were unobtainable here.

That 'beach' is an illusion. It's dry phragmites fronds. That was the day we had some summer. The real beach is mud and reeds,
