Rewatch Downunder Saturday 7th October D 2 Power
M1795537OCVirn
Well, it's still 10.30 am (BST) in the UK. but the Aussies are on another planet. They start at 8.30 pm.

Power. Whose power are we talking about? Not Avon's, he's lost the plot somewhere in tha past couple of weeks. Dorian's? Maybe. Soolin's? There are certain fans who'd like to think so, The Seska? With their dwindling population (can you still call it a population when they're down to single figures?) Or...the Sea Devils? Probably.
"You're not sulking, I hope?"

Sorry I forgot to post the thread, everyone. No real excuse, except that it's been a Bit of a Week, as Travisiana might say, Hope you're all ok and ready to get started/.

It's only an hour later, Obsidian. No need to go wild.

Hi Virn, hi Obsidian, I hope you are both well. I’m sipping on an ‘adult’ ice cream soda as we speak.

M1795537OCVirn
And I'm not even going to try using my stupid optical drive this time. That'll teach it to mess me about. Dailymotion it is, folks. With adverts. With everything inside-out. But still with that clever opening vidscreen overlay flypast thingy. That took quite a lot of work, I should think.

Adult because you're not using a straw? Does ice cream still float in neat alcohol, then?

Hooray! Made it back.

Starting?

I'm starting at the 5 minutes late mark. Just so you know. But I have the adverts to get through, so that makes it fair.
Sorry to miss Anne this week. Hope she has a great weekend.

Well, I can sort of understand that when Tarrant is on the screen, but shouldn’t you wait till your 3rd date.

How come you never told me about your PD's crocodile, Aussies? What else have you done that you didn't tell me?

No, it's loads better, thanks for mentioning it. I can now save files and they don't disappear into black holes.

Interesting physics question.[/quote

It's the sort of thing physicists use as a PhD question so they have an excuse to hang out in the pub. Solving the problem of how bubbles work in beer took a lot of research time.

Yonks ago New Scientist published a series of letters reporting the 'bubbles in beer' progress. Gave me a whole new take on 'research'.

Does Pella really talk like that? Where's her accent supposed to be from?

Definitely the real stuff. :-) I’ve got lots of it, sometimes it can be a real pain, but I do love the freshly mowed look.

I've always wondered if it was the French finishing school (just making it up here).

Annoyingly, the news agent's today did not have the latest New Scientist. My usual stand there and read.

The usual domestic hairdryer... Actually, now I think of it, it looks like one of the heating devices used by painters so that they can scrape back paint. Essentially a hairdryer only in boy shades of blerrgh.

My dear husband is trying to get back 'up north' after a week in Brighton. His first train was cancelled. Now he's on one that goes as far as Preston (over 100 miles south of here) but trains north of that have been cancelled because of 'bad weather'. OK, it's raining a bit (again/still) but it's no worse than usual. Guess it's going to be a long day.

We have a large sword here. No idea where it came from. Amongst David's collection of nasty weapons hidden behind a door.

Would cause rather more damage if one tried using it to dry hair, though.

Is that the train that goes through Lancaster? If so, been on it. Preston is not where I'd like to be stuck.

Yeah, everything from the basic aboriginal nulla nulla up to the percussion weapons. No plasma guns yet.
