Servalan's in it - what's not to like?

I don't know. I've just come across mentions of it as self-evidently a bad episode, like Animals or Voice from the Past. I think it's the cod-Dark-Ages culture of the Goths - but I find that rather fun.

Not originally. They just liked the outfits and decided to cosplay.

I feel that a lot of these worlds are populated by people who like to cosplay whatever fragments of Earth history they think they remember.

Things are a bit like that now. Have to laugh at the deadly earnest 'punks' who weren't born until several decades post-punk.

Maybe people don't like it because the actors 'ham it up' a bit? They're entitled to have a laugh sometimies, surely?

Nah. It's very tightly plotted and played. Everyone is now on edge. Denouement is evident in it's every pore. Maybe people are put off by the dress-ups.

Mmmm. Don't think they do it too badly. Though Travis just said "You and I" when he meant "You and me". Wince! Then again. Travis is plainly not an Alpha Grade.

From her point of view, why not? Real grapes are probably something of a luxury in space. That cultured algae fruit just isn't the same.

Yes. He tries talking Servalan into coming on side with his "ambition", appealing to hers, but, apart from getting her ship, he shoots through when he gets no more. I think it's probably an either/or thing.

Exactamente. She suspects because she knows that he has the info about Goth also, but she hasn't realised the lengths he might go to. The biting the hand that feeds. Dogs do it in the end if mistreated.
