I totally agree with you about the space liner set and the subsurface shuttle. I love how the shuttle is basically something they can lean back against plus the regular passing light to suggest movement. There's another episode where they do something similar to suggest a lift, except the light goes from top to bottom instead of horizontally. Looking at the space liner pic, it looks like those two 'offices' at top left and right may be an illustration (glass shot?) rather than part of the set. The Federation Health and Safety Secretariat would condemn it - needs a handrail for those stairs. "You're not sulking, I hope?"

Damn it I want to go to the party on the Liberator they had while flying to Teal. It looks so fun. And just ordering Orac to be the entertainment and not giving a heck that he doesn't like it. It's just ... so much better than living on the Enterprise D with their classical music concerts and paintings of sunsets |

There is a moment that I don't think quite lands: VILA: I'm going to be thrilled one way or another. [He glances at Dayna] Have a drink, Dayna. DAYNA: Do you know your most attractive quality, Vila? VILA [Eagerly]: No. What? DAYNA: Your subtlety. [His face falls.] It's a character moment for both of them. It shows a really sleazy side of Vila. From a drama angle I really like it. I like in B7 how the main characters are not necessarily good people. It shows a whip smart side of Dayna. So I want to give it the benefit of the doubt and say it's good character work and not bad 70s-80s vibes... but it could be. I think though regardless of the script it's played is a little too light. Like, Dayna's not as grossed out as I think she would be. Vila really is unpleasant sometimes! |

(I'm watching the 15 minutes I had to skip earlier). There's an awesome little moment after the Servalan/Avon scene where he asks Cally to beam him up and it's like he steps backwards into the teleport beam. It's very debonair. Possibly peak-coolness for Avon. Pity I can't upload a little gif of it |
