The teleport system must work differently from Liberator's.

Moloch died because the Liberator teleport wouldn't bring up his life support. It only worked on organic material plus closely-touching items like clothing.

If Scorpio's teleport worked the same way, there's no way it would teleport android Muller anywhere.

What about the Avalon android?

Ooh, good point!

The 'lightning' noise when Vila tries to approach the box is also clumsy. But (a few minutes ago now) I liked Avon standing aside and leaving Soolin to comfort Muller's lover - obviously woman's work, in his mind!

Not to mention its height and floppy arms.

I really wish the HMUA had left PD's hair alone. The quiff must have required hairspray and I just can't see Avon, for all his fine style, stopping to check in all those reflective surfaces to put it in place. Which is why we get the later 'flick'. So NOT him.

Blake held her hand in the teleport (so she wouldn't be scared). Liberator recognised Blake as a lifeform and decided he was carrying something.

It may be like when Max shakes his hand unexpectedly in 'Death-watch'. He might be avoiding being put in a position where he has to put his arm around her or pat her hand, etc.

That would be very Avon.

He moved to do it but then she crossed her arms around herself. Then he sends in the comforting female. Quite sensitive I thought. Being squished against another male might have uncomfortable for her.

You can't go on apologising for the stupid 'Muller' costume. It doesn't work and is totally unbelievable. Why does it go 'AAARGGHHH!' anyway?

Why do the space helmet have fins on them? Comms antenna?

Well, thanks for a good rewatch. I have to duck off early.

Have a good week, everyone.

Take care, Obsidian. I hope you fell better soon.

Okay, Vila. Teleport!

AnneArthur
I missed 'Moloch' this time round, but was his life-support system not built into the replication machine? He had lived with it so long that he had forgotten it, and foolishly thought he didn't need it any more, so teleported only himself. After all, if the life-support system was connected to him, then it would teleport with him.

To stop them from looking like the scary basic things from the early 1960s which they curiously resemble.

What have all these robots/AI/computers got against us anyway? We gave them 'life', didn't we? And we keep their batteries charged up/fuel inserted (whatever), and make them feel needed by letting them do all the difficult maths.

Young Mr. Rocker evidently had a thing for fins and built up padding on a lot of his costumes for this show. The fins are an aesthetic balance to the shoulder trims and other gold hardware. And as I said, without them, the helmets would have looked like the very early Space helmets, especially of the cosmonauts.

And we let them do all the fun stuff, like writing undergraduate essays and making camp pictures of Donald Trump, while we still do the cleaning.

Have you not watched Transformers? I mean the original Japanese cartoons? A whole franchise based on this fear. BTW, I loved the original Transformers.

I love this bit of Avon going up the pylon. Then chucking the cable cutters. I can see my electrical engineer father laughing every time.

Apparently so. Of course, this may just be an early move in their bid to make us their slaves.

Well, certainly most people are slaves – more serfs – to the big corporations. It shouldn't take too much more effort.

Nah, he'd let the minions (props people) do that, while he readjusted his hair. It was getting all messed up by the wind.

But the Federation brings freedom from all that! ...by taking over all the big corporations in the name of the people!!
