Hello everyone. Just started. Sorry I wasn't around on Thursday, Ms Virn - another meeting-that-really-could-have-been-an-email at church. And worse, I have agreed to help at a children's craft session on the morning of December 7th. Which episode will I be missing for that delight?

Think it might be Games.

I have just been going through it, and I think it's Gold. I had initially though Sand, which would really have annoyed me. But they are all good episodes at that point, and all a miss.

Yep. Gold it is. Or isn't, in your case. I wonder if Keiller ever discovered that a short walk from the quarry would take him back to civilisation?

Which one? Nick Brimble? The extreme makeup on the guy's sidebars especially is rather cute, I find. Eighties makeup was on its way in, quite definitely.

General.

Yes, Nick Brimble. Evidently, some of the officers were becoming rather effete, if all the other accoutrements are anything to go by.

I used to love trying to see how far I can swim underwater without having to come up for a breath. I managed to get up to at least 40 m. I can’t remember why I was so determined, but I wonder if it was this episode that inspired me.

Yes, but is Sector Four worth having, I wonder? What kind of zoning did the Feds use, anyway? Is Sector one around Earth, for example?

There's a map in one of the Horizon Newsletters.

Oh, and for those doubting how good the bar ware is from B7, the officers are currently supping from Waterford crystal.

Any chance of it being online anywhere? I would love to know how the Federation zoning system works - I've never been able to make out a satisfactory scheme.

Don't think so. If I get half a minute I'll see if I can find it.

Mind you, it's somewhere in Dorset, so not all that civilised.

I was just thinking something similar about Quute's eyepatch. It's got a glitzy border to it, which sort of fits in with the uniform. I don't imagine it was issued to him that way though, which suggests his less-than-manly off-duty hobby playing with a Bedazzler.

Interesting that Quute's bad eye is his left one, the same as Travis and Blake. Why does everyone get injured on that side of the face?

Note that the orrificers have the same decanter that Vila had on Liberator for his green gloop. They must have shopped at the same Space KMart. Although it is Krosno, not cheap junk.

I think it all fits with the rather effete habits and behaviours of this bunch of officers who managed to survive the purge. And yes, the left eye thing is rather interesting. Maybe their right eyes were better.

Effete officers? Servalan did say Travis was the best she had left. Also, the new President probably set the flashy fashion trend.

Peter Tuddenham plays the House Computer (which keeps the clunky computer voice style established for Federation computers) and the PA announcer who summons everyone for the census. I hope he got four pay packets that day.

There's heaps of actors in the ambush shoot-out scene. Surely they could have used one of them to provide the extra voices. (I know, I know - extra fee for a speaking part.)

---*---

Is Avon's mention of the audio system being okay directly after the communicator being shot and the technician jumping in his seat meant to be a clever link between the two scenes?

Has anyone tried to order the new B7 through the Supreme Commanders link? I get through initially but when I try to actually make the purchase it fails.

BBC on the cheap. Like Michael Keating doing a voice in another episode. Why hire another actor to speak? They probably got paid more for speaking.
