Hey Obsidian, Which country are you in?

Australia Grin

Welcome home. :-) Did you have a good trip?

So glad I paid for the Premium Economy on the way back. Felt human instead of the usual piece of garbage. Return flights to Australia are hideous.
Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Snarky Avon at his best.

Servalan vs Dayna scene. Excellent writing. We Brits are so good at using politeness to insult people.

I’m also very impressed with how Josette held her own in that scene. It must be very difficult for a newbie who is also a bit younger than the regular actor to turn up on day one and be so confident.

At last! Great photos, Obsidian. Did you find the entry lock?

No, but I found a moon disc.

Explaining that probably needs whole fanfic.

She comes across as totally naif, which is exactly what she's meant to be. It's perfect.

It’s almost a pity Avon was worried he’d ‘be dead in a week’ because otherwise he could’ve switched sides and change the course of the show with him and Servalan ruling the Federation. LOL

It's a marvellous beach.

This question isn’t meant to be rude, even though it might sound it, but was Bamburg Beach chosen because it was the only one (or at least one of only very few beaches) in the UK with sand.

I think Servalan is attempting to appeal to Avon's sense of grandiosity, assuming that that is something every bloke has and that they'll be swayed by their big-headedness ahead of anything else. Only Avon, being smart, knows he's not that great, and that his a*** isn't safe.

Only Servalan would be so mean as to play hide and seek with a blind man.

Absolutely not! We have lots of sandy beaches, and the ones in the north (like Bamburgh) are often undeveloped and fabulously wild/windswept/romantic and beautiful. Avoid the south coast, though, lots of gravel and shingle.

Mean?? Let's just say she prefers to stack the decks in her favour.

Oh ok, that was the problem, I should’ve gone north!!

Not true. It's Australian bigotry has promulgated this cobblers about UK beaches not having sand. Where did sand castles comes from if not the Brits on hols? Here's Broadstairs.

The film crew did a great job of keeping the castle out of shots.

We’ll for my part at least it wasn’t bigotry, it was experience. Every beach I went to had pebbles.

Hee hee, you make it sound like they were herding it from one place to another to keep it out of sight.

Shingle.

Sand is something Orrstralians boast about, as if we specially chose our geology. I've brought back sand for a friend for this very reason.

Sorry about that. And even Broadstairs is full of beach trash like huts, donkeys, people etc. Better off up here where there's nobody spoling the view, absolutely nothing to do and (sadly) no ice cream sellers.

Well might they have. Once I thought about the filming whilst there, I realised they kept to very low shots to avoid showing any structures. Even so, you can see a building in the background near the end there, before they teleport.

At this stage the train was full of young folks heading down for the day. Under 30s made up most of the crowd on the beach. Still, it had sand.

I didn't mind there not being ice cream sellers at Bamburgh. Much better for it. There aren't on a lot of Oz beaches either, only the nasty, touristy places.
