Rewatch Downunder Saturday 9th March A 10 Breakdown
M1795537OCVirn
Starting at 8.30pm Downunder and 09.30am UK time.

A10 Breakdown
In which Gan gets a headache, and the Liberator diverts to XK72 to see if they have any paracetamol. Kayn proves himself a good citizen of the Federation, and while Avon argues with Zen, Blake shows just how heartless he is in pursuit of his Cause.

Admittedly, other interpretations are possible. Why not join the rewatch and find out more?

That's why there's no aspirin in the jungle.
The parrots eat 'em all.

Where's that 'throwing up' emoji when you need one?

Tyce
Sadly people, I’m in Melbourne living it up. Oh wait on that’s not sad at all!! Anyway so far, I’ve done dinner at Denmark House, Gondolier paddling in the Botanical Gardens, the Rocky Horror show, an Olivia Newton-John tribute show. Tomorrow I have Groundhog Day musical tomorrow and the Swedish cafe in Toorsk - but tonight is the big thing is Björn Again at the Myer Music Bowl doing a 50 year anniversary since Waterloo won Eurovision show!! So while I’d absolutely love to join you to see Gan’s starring moment - um…. or him get knocked unconscious in the first five seconds, and not returned till the last five seconds, I’m going to have to have to give it a miss. Have lots of fun. See you next week. :-)

Hi all.. I'll be back....
I remember Break down well played wasn't too impressed by its ending but great viewing.
Australia
The Penal Colony
Where Servalan is supreme commander.

M1795537OCVirn
And it's Saturday again. Not that we're at all jealous of yotr high-end lifestyle, Tyce. At least you still talk to us little people. Have a great weekend!
Hoping you make it back at 8.30, Pilot. Yeah, Breakdown isn't the best episode, but at least Gan gets a starring role - sort of.
Five minutes, everyone...
"You're not sulking, I hope?"

M1795537OCVirn
OK, so we're starting late...again. Another five minutes, then.

I don't know; that Tyce gets around, doesn't she? Feel like having a breakdown this end. So much to do and too little time. Otherwise, all good. How are you MsVirn? Holding it together for the side?

Just about holding on here, and thanks for asking. The usual answer to having too many plates to spin is - delegate. But I expect you're the sort of person who doesn't, because you can't. I mean, who else could create a necklace of Vila's teeth?

It would help to have someone to whom to delegate. No-one under 30 is going to do it: they all think they should be multimillionaires for just breathing. A friend said yes then promptly disappeared. Sigh.

There, you see - Gan had the whole flight deck to himself, and a solo shot.
Some people do get headaches when there's a storm on the way. Maybe that's the problem - nothing to do with a 'limiter'.

They do! I thought it was the change in air pressure, but apparently (something half-read in New Scientist) it's owing to something else.

Seems more likely. Dear One had to go without caffeine on Thursday because he was having a heart scan Friday. He was NOT a happy bunny.

Poor dear. Like Gan, they do go to pieces when there's anything slightly wrong with them.

Hi AnneA. Glad you made it.

I wonder if the limiter was actually malfunctioning - might it not be a thing that normally keeps him docile, but that the Federation can flip to make him go beserk? It sounds like the sort of experiment they might try.

Good old Vila - he knows exactly what Avon's thinking. Who needs a telepath?

That's an interesting idea. One could programme people without their knowing, and send them out to 'flip' into killers whenever....Thanks, Anne, I'll pass that on.

Well, one of the "linkages" does seem to be broken. But it does make one wonder what the real purpose was other than the fact that it's termed a "limiter", implying that something is being limited. Maybe it's the easy route for certain social Grades as opposed to Blake's complete brainwashing.

But it could perhaps be broken deliberately?

Not if it needs a surgeon to reset it each time. If it were grunts in battle mode where no survival was expected, then I could see that making sense.
