How did the script get away with saying Avon was a bit skinny ?

Most actors ARE skinny. Have you ever tried to get into one of the costumes?

Every one of those men is an agent for fifty potential clients. The BBC prefers it that way. Fewer extras.

And only one of them is speaking.

Speaking entails an extra fee.

Not being horrible to his nibs but I was wondering about that too.

A party of traveling entertainers was brought in....

Entertainers... so... Pirri couldn't possibly have been one of them.

At least as a professional, he went out on a high note.

See, I told you, we should have stolen the Space Rats cannon as well as the stardrive. One shot from Scorpio and this episode is thirty minutes shorter.

I started these rewatches in the 40th anniversary year and thought she was pathetic. But her performance grows on me. She's hilarious!

Even the dummy is a better actor than Caroline Holdaway.

Tarrant is smitten by Pirri.... but it's Avon who has been repeatedly hit on the head.

Watching the Firefly episode Our Mrs. Reynolds, you can see how good this episode could have been with a proper actress.

Paula
The highlight of the entire episode is Avon watching Tarrant fight the actor Cancer.

I thought it was watching Pirri die horribly at the end.

After saying, 'I'll cover you!'
I wonder if the scriptwriter imagined the scene this way. Could have been Paul Darrow's input.

She gave up acting and now does interior design.

Soolin is super cool in this one. She acts in the way that Avon used to.

John Wyman as Cancer, the fake Cancer, is hitting it out of the park. What an actor, I can imagine he's done quite a bit of Shakespeare with that voice and presence.

I think we have wondered before how she got ANY work in acting....

Pirri: I'm really stupid, aren't I?

Not as stupid as Tarrant.

Steven Pacey's assessment of Tarrant in this episode was 'thick as two short planks.'
