Completely unrelated question?? Have you ever done a
your family tree?? I’m very keen to find a database kind of program that once you’ve put the data in will produce a pictorial family tree. I’ve been looking for one for ages but can only find those stupid family tree websites where you sign your life away.

Avon's devotion to Blake is rather touching, isn't it? He's being so careful to keep exactly to (Servalan's) instructions, in case anything happens to Blake if he gets it wrong,he's alienating his crew. And doesn't care.

And fanfics always assume a galley. There is a break-out room.

I have this theory - been meaning to draw it as a cartoon sometime - that there's a door near the teleport bay with a sign on it saying "Broom cupboard" in Avon's handwriting. Every so often Avon goes in carrying a broom. On the other side is an enormous recreation room with a swimming pool, soft music, little robots serving trays of drinks, sun loungers, etc.

Hi Anne!

Good old Terry Nation. He introduces Orac then doesn't bother explaining why Avon isn't using it to help.

Again, more uncharacteristic action. I guess Uncle Tel had to wrap up things quickly because it was meant to be the last ep. That being the case it wouldn't have mattered that people are behaving out of character.
Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

I think the others would find Avon doing the sweeping as so out of character that they would be suspicious. Grin

Hi AnneA. Hope all is well. Got your supermarket job?

No, although there is still a chance for the one for receptionist in a primary school.

As I said, Uncle Tel wrote a quick wrap-up and repeats some of the Avon behaviour of RoD. In the end, his devotion to Blake as opposed to Anna, leaves things open for a whole new season. Terry Nation wasn't stupid.

Devotion to Blake, or a desire to keep his options open? He might want to be able to decide what to do about Blake and his plan without the others getting all enthusiastic.

"I needed Liberator (only) to bring me here."

It's an interesting switch. All he wanted was the Liberator and no Blake. Now he's going for Blake and saying he doesn't even want the ship!

He looks like a Teddy Boy when he's standing in that wind with his sideburns showing.

He's had a season of mastery of the Liberator. It seems to have changed his mind.

He's replaced Anna with Blake and also taking a leaf out of Blake's book by seeking out a possible way to disappear.

Yes, Vila looks good. I don't like Avon's plastic-looking top, and I don't like Servalan's print fabric: I find the print distracting. She's better in self-coloured frocks. Also, she has to be careful not to spike her chin on that decorative thing.

I love the way he chucks away the guidance mechanism. Avon has a particular way of chucking away things as we see in Headhunter especially.

Hope he didn't do that with his socks and jocks.

Oh yes! I did the bulk of mine while I was doing my PhD because my mother, especially, needed emotionally to "find" her family back in the UK. I was happy to do that but the old PhD got sidelined for a while.

I see Avon as normally being the sort to fold things neatly and keep rooms tidy. I think that it is because throwing a thing away is a small act of rebellion for him that he does it with such flair.

It's a terrific brooch but I can't find any photo clear enough to show me how it was constructed; otherwise I'd have a go at making one myself. Trawls of secondhand stores on- and off-line have not been forthcoming for anything even vaguely like it.
