Rewatch Downunder Saturday 29th July C5 Harvest of Kairos
M1795537OCVirn
In which an overplayed hero fights an underarmed heroine watched by an unbelievable 'spider'.

Servalan wears a rather fetching frock, while Avon spends his time talking to a rock, and a lunar lander somehow grows itself some take-off engines.

Lots of plot holes to pick at today. Enjoy.

That got a bit rhymey in the middle.

What time do the rewatches start?

M1795537OCVirn
It's supposed to start at 7.30pm downunder (10.30am UK) but who knows when the rest of them will turn up?

I hate to say 'I told you so', but it's two minutes to the start, and nobody else is here. Yet.

Have to say I rather like this one despite the silly spider thing. Sopron is a great concept and should have been taken further, and I do love Jarvik. "Woman!"

He's OK,except for his rather forced 'laugh'. Cally wasted again, as always. But a fun story.

I'm fine MsVirn. Feeling a tad jittery as things don't arrive what should, but ok for all that. Final week, to countdown – probably. How are you?

Final week? Is this about sending the collection to Paris? Do you get to go with it?

I THINK I might be able to still make things this week, but they'll have to get sent by courier to get them to both Paris and New York by mid-August. I'll be cutting it fine as I want to take things to Sydney to have my brother photograph them on my niece for model shots. If only I could go too, but my brother will be in France visiting the house he owns there, so he can stand in for me.

Hello. Started. Interesting that Servalan thinks that Tarrant is in charge - bias in favour of Space Command?

Is it one of those times you people would say 'get a wriggle on'?

Yes, I was peering at that. The frock seems to button up the side which is a bit interesting.

Thanks AnneA. I've already instituted Plan B, just in case, you understand. How is life at your end?

There are suggestions that the original plan was that Tarrant stayed loyal to the Federation, then once the crew trusted him, he would betray them at some stage.

OK. Busy applying for a job, and preparing for my summer school next week. I'll have to miss next week's rewatch. City at the End of the World is one of my half-dozen or so favourite episodes, so I'm sorry about that. I would far rather miss this one - I find Jarvik tedious and the spider laughable. Passive-aggressive Avon is interesting, though - I would like to have known what went on between Volcano and now to bring crew relations to this state.

Servalan behaves as if she knows him, which suggests they did encounter each other at Space Command. I have read a couple of fics which follow the idea of Tarrant being a plant. Evidently not by Tarrant lovers.

You would need a different Tarrant for that, I think.

I think Avon decided to stay well out of it, let Tarrant make a fool of himself so that there was an excuse to make snide comments about him.

Apart from Dayna, the crew are all in shades of 70s brown this week.

Is this the job you were talking about before? Job applications are something I'm very glad I don't have to do anymore, although several of the jobs I had were all based on recommendation for same (thank goodness!). Good luck with it. I don't envy you.

As for the ep, Avon is far more ADHD hyper-focussed than passive aggressive. I recognise the behaviour only too well.Smile

I don't see Avon as indifferent, I see him as angry. Tarrant has (temporarily) got the Liberator - Avon wants it back.

I'm not saying he's indifferent, he's just waiting for the right chance.

Yes, that's what he's doing. It's the older and wiser versus the young and brash. But it does make you wonder what happened previously to bring Tarrant to the fore now. Or maybe he's just being given enough rope with which to prove himself.Wink

No, I don't see Avon as angry. Tarrant is being tested for his own good. He thinks he's hot and he's being given the chance to prove it – or not.
