In which we discover that some humans (well, human-like) are prepared to use other humans for spare parts. Without even paying them.

Ah, glad you added this because I was about to. Just got to wash my hands – been polishing silver – and will be back with you.

Mornin' all. A humid sort of day here on Virn. Maybe thunderstorms ahead? That might help sort out the glitches that have built up because of the Sand. One of which was forgetting to post the thread for this episode until today.
Many apologies. It's here now.

Hi Obsidian,

Hi Virn, I’m sorry I haven’t replied to you yet I haven’t been very well for a couple of days. I hope to get back into the swing of things tomorrow.

Obsidian
Yes, well, my Photoshop app decided it would stop opening my RAW files so I'm in the process of moving everything onto a new computer. I always hate this process because things go wrong and I can't looka t anything for ages. Back on the old one at present.

Here, it's been cold and raining. Meanwhile, on the Liberator, there's a storm brewing.

Shall we start?

Hi Tyce, That's not good. It was a miserable one today. Definitely a day to stay in bed and eat only soup and/or crumpets.

Morning all. It's my birthday, and as a birthday present I get an episode in which not only is Tarrant given a lot of screen time, but he also gets to use his brain, for the first, and possibly last, time in the series.

Sorry to hear this Tyce. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Start? Why not? Let's get this over with. Despite the presence of Her Purpleness, I don't like this episode much. It all feels a bit stilted, especially the 'hospital' bits. But I can imagine the Tarrantists go wild for it.

Sorry to hear you've been a bit 'crock', Tyce. Whenever you're ready.

Hey - happy birthday, Anne! Do you have a birthday cake?

Enjoy Tarrant appearing intelligent. It won't last.

Klegg is so good. And, who is this young upstart?

Klegg is such a good name for him. We have a fly here called a clegg - it doesn't buzz, but sneaks up on you and gives you a nasty painful, itchy bite.

Would you like me to sing Happy Birthday in Swedish? :-)

'Be scared of me because I know people' is weak, even for him.

Oh, I know, alas! I'm supposed to be going out to a picnic after this (although the sky is getting very dark, and thunderstorms are forecast) and I have bought a birthday cake to take to that. If the picnic is cancelled, I will sit and watch Wimbledon and eat it myself! Meanwhile, some nice eye candy here. Grin

I would love it! I don't have any little Swedish flags though (Swedish birthday parties on TV always seem to involve them).

It took me ages to realise that Lom is Lando Calrissian's control person in Star Wars.

Good to see Pat Gorman getting more than 5 seconds' screen time, though he does get stabbed.

The Hi-techs do look spooky until you see what they are. The lighting on that is excellently mysterious.

It's a very atmospheric episode. I also like the inspection tubes.
