No idea if Mother's day there is celebrated same date as us here??

No, in Britain, and I think only in Britain, it's in March. I used to have an Austrian friend who bought a card on British Mother's Day, then kept it for the Austrian one in May.

We decided to be USA-an for ours but I think we threw a coin in the air for Fathers' Day.

The British one, I think, is a hangover from the days when servants got the middle Sunday in Lent off to go home and visit their families.

Originally it was about letting your female servants go home to see their mothers on the fourth Sunday of Lent (because you'd need them around at Easter, obviously). This was long before an American realised it was a commercial opportunity.

While the costumes are clumsy and horrible, the furniture is rather good.

And there are no outfits now that are clumsy and horrible? Leggings on the grossly out-sized as on Instagram, per chance?

I like the costumes. They are not pretending to be late 1970s; they are 'out of this world'. Emanuel Ungaro eat your heart out.

But the leggings, I think, are probably quite comfortable for the wearer. These look very difficult to do any sort of work in.

But who are we to know? Getting around in shorts in the jungle ain't really sensible either (leeches... eek! Mozzies... eek!) but people do it. Wearing short tunics in blistery old Pritan, when you could be wearing that eastern trousery thing, ditto.

I suppose if you are used to them, you can operate quite easily in them - but they still look awkward.

Absolutely. And I have a feeling that Australia used to have the same day as the UK. But we confused 'freedom' with commercialism as many continue to do. No longer the card and breakfast in bed for Mum.

From what he is saying, it looks like Bellfriar went out to examine Wiler, which might explain how he was contaminated.

Ah, that could be it. Blake's wrong about it being air-borne otherwise he'd have to concede that they have might have caught it. But does Blake touch Bellfriar?

Or Blake touched something Bellfriar had touched?

He was very close to Gambril a few minutes ago. I think we will have to fall back on Blake being relatively resistant to it, and managing to get back to the Liberator before the symptoms started. Avon and Vila have the advantage of being in a less affected area. Once on the Liberator they can be cured, as in Children of Auron.

I understand about not having a computer in the quarantine area unless it's like Zen and ORAC where you speak to them only. Keyboards are great fomites.

So all those people singing 'Vivat Camilla Regina' last week were Welsh too?

Ah, the famous Death Quiver, well known from all TV plagues.

I like the meals in a bag too. To me these little things suggest tha, for this episode, someone had really been thinking in terms of what happens in Space and it being different from Earth.

Anyone else read Chris Brookmyre's science fiction stories? Love them. And, of course, he's A B7 fan.

Possibly. Or they had a Welsh choral director.

Oh gosh yes, do! As with all his books, they're mysteries. Intelligent and witty. With the sci-fi books, B7 fans will get a few giggles. His Jack Parlabane books were great for those of us who love Robertson Davies books.

Well, I liked that. To me it seems more sci-fi than a lot of episodes where it's as though they've been through the BBC dress-up bag.

Surely a dress-up room? You couldn't fit the Michelin men ones into a bag as well as all the bug ones.

I think, from the way they were standing around at the end, that we have to assume that the B7 teleport, like the Star Trek one, filters out viruses. But I'm getting to like this more - thanks for the rewatch, everyone.

True, but given the mish-mash they come up with for some eps, it seems more homey, more the bags full of Mum's old clothes than a whole room where one might make intelligent and pertinent selections.

Glad it ended ... as it did.

Right, next I’m off to watch qualifying for the upcoming Marbula 1 event at Sakura Gardens. Vital stuff, this.

That may be a big assumption, but I do see the virus as a contact thing, not airborne or where you might breathe in spores or such-like. They'd have to go through a de-contamination shower.
