My main problem with it is that it's so slow and stilted; it's as if they're speaking slowly instead of padding. Blame the Director? Yes, I think we have to, but it seems as though there's not enough script and that they didn't have enough time to rehearse. Of course, there were all the Cally/Dayna script changes that can't have helped. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Tyce, so sorry that you won't be with us again. That's a real shame. Hope all is well with you. No, no you miss read my message. I was being sarcastic. I was bemoaning the fact that the week that I’m available is the week that we get to rewatch Animals. LOL Just your luck... It's got some redeeming features: 1. The kids are allowed out by themselves (and see what trouble they get into) 2. Og and the animals are cute, especially when angry 3. The buddleia are doing really well 4. Avon makes a good save My main problem with it is that it's so slow and stilted; it's as if they're speaking slowly instead of padding.[/quote] And the red on Justin’s outfit is nice and bright! |

Sorry I'm late again. Does anyone else find series 4 to split into 2 halves? With the possible exception of Rescue, the first half has is rather poor, but from Games onward they are, IMO some of the best. In this episode, I rather like the Ogg animals - but that's about it. |

Tyce I've been to Quybeanne ( apologies for the miss spelling) years ago. Nice neat town, narrow streets though. Nice friendly people. Agreed Queanbeyan is a nice place. I lived there for about 5 years. Sadly it is very low lying, and the town that always gets flooded when there is heavy rain. Another case – very common in Australia – of idiots building in a flood plain. It's not called a flood plain for nothing. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

All they want to do is exist - sound like rather sensible animals to me. |

Of course, there were all the Cally/Dayna script changes that can't have helped. For me, the worst bit is the 'brainwashing'. The script for that exchange is SO SLOW and OVERDONE. Tarrant gets a solo scene - and is out-acted by a computer. OOO! Handbags at dawn. May I point out that in a few episodes time Servalan won't be quite so contemptuous of our Tarrant? Only because she wants to use him and get the gun. Decorative, remember? But (as she admits herself) having got the gun, she finds she can't use it. More than just decorative, I would say. ![]() |

[ And the red on Justin’s outfit is nice and bright! It just reminds me horribly of a very bright, 1970s' dental hygienist's outfit. Another plus: Servie's beautiful feather cape. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

A rather Brexity dental hygienist. I'm feeling rather allergic to red white and blue at the moment. Actually, on a closer look, it's red white and black. I'm letting my prejudices blind me . . . You mean like wine grapes? Actually, all those crops aren't European, they are from the Middle East originally, it's just that there there is at least some soil cover. Australia has none. Also, here, because of the large areas involved, stupid, stupid people thought it was a good idea to have vast areas of monoculture. Ans they decided to build houses all over the most arable land. Worst ideas ever. Worse even than Justin's genetic engineering. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Jacs is SO good in this. Again. She says so much without speaking - which is what Justin - and on this occasion, most of the rest - don't manage to do. I wonder what her opinion of the episode was!

Justin really is a piece of work - but the Dayna relationship makes him even more creepy. If it had been Cally he had been involved with, we would be focussing on the ethics of his work with the animals, rather than his involvement with a minor. |

For someone who doesn't know much, Ardus knows a lot about Bucol 2. Wouldn't be in the script just for a bit of exposition, would he? Oh, and for showcasing Servie's evil deeds.

To add insult to injury new houses and housing suburbs have black roofs, Black ash-felt streets, are painted dark grey, have artificial turf outside and all trees are removed to build these suburbs. They’ve done tests and found suburbs are 10 to 15° hotter after the suburb is built than it was before. |

If it had been Cally he had been involved with, we would be focussing on the ethics of his work with the animals, rather than his involvement with a minor. The legal age for marriage of women in Australia was 14 until the 1940s. Even until the 1990s, women of 14 or 15 could marry with permission from parents. I had a friend who married at only just 15 during the 1970s. 'Minor' is not an immutable construct. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

If it had been Cally he had been involved with, we would be focussing on the ethics of his work with the animals, rather than his involvement with a minor. Possibly. But also possibly we would be wondering why Cally would lower herself to get involved with a dork like Justin. |

It grows happily across the steppe in the Middle East without any more than the rain water at rates of less than 250ml pa. Wheat requires a bit more but not much. It's how we grow things here that's the problem. And TOTALLY agree about the houses. Of course, those suburbs leave no room to grow trees. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.
