I know why Yoda sounds like Fozzie Bear, but why does Moloch sound the way he does? If this is a prediction how humankind will evolve, are we all going to have an Indian accent in the far future? |

Not all that far given their population and rapid economic growth. My father, blonde hair blue eyes, born and raised in Ceylon, often sounded like Spike Milligan doing Pakky Paddy, more so when facing a nice hot curry. Maybe Astrid turned himself into Moloch, controlling everything (or so he thought) and the chap in the tank wasn't him Oh, I love the idea that Astrid sewed up some dummy as best he could, and Gross and Lector were completely fooled by it. In fact, it reminds me of something in the Goodies...  |

So what have we learned today? I learned that Fozzie Bear is called Fozzie because Frank Oz, who works him, is "F. Oz" >>> Foz >>> Fozzie. Also, not to let AI buy a tank. And to be suspicious of how it can subvert its instructions. |

I think the idea of a machine that can copy things so well and in such an unlimited way is a good one. And of course that everyone wants it for their own ends, in almost an 'absolute power corrupts absolutely' kind of way, makes for a great central device. I think however the scriptwriter has looked for a way to demonstrate that the Federation is bad (and thus our heroes are good for opposing it), and come up with something fairly simplistic; basic nastiness and thuggery. I'm sure Grose & Lector are deliberate and barely-veiled name choices, which reduces them to the level of a bad comedy. "I'm Major Disaster and this is Private Business!" |
