The episode: Barney Three - Weapon (Carry On Mister Smooth) The date: Tuesday, April 14th, 2026 The time: 7.45pm UK time In which Travis has a new costume and a new eyepatch – I’m sure something else is different as well. A new hairstyle, perhaps? Maybe we can figure it out during the re-watch. Also, Cally becomes Teacher’s Pet, while Servie is more devious than ever, and Avon’s worse nightmare comes true - there’s THREE Blakes in this episode. And there's high collars galore and even a Siberian hamster! Episode in a word: IMIPAK! Character to cheer: Mister Smooth, who apart from his extreme arrogance, comes across as a relatively decent chap. He certainly manages to charm Servie. Character to boo: Clonemaster Fen seems to have some sort of God complex. It’s not attractive. Is Soolin looking lovely this week?: Yes. Recognisable Face: John Bennett (Coser) played Li H'sen Chang in the “Doctor Who: The Talons Of Weng-Chiang” a couple of years before this. That’s right, he played a Chinaman, complete with yellow make-up. He did a pretty good job too, but you’d never get away with doing that nowadays! Best line: “Auron may be different, Cally, but on Earth it is considered ill-mannered to kill your friends while committing suicide.” Blake's 7 will return in… Carry On Space Primitive. Vote Og.

It’s 19:45 Earth Standard Time, and here is the news from Earth Dome One. I am your in-studio reporter, Lee R. Pantsonfire. Our top story tonight: Explosion at a Federation Weapons Development Facility. There are, of course, intentional explosions at all weapons development facilities, as this is how they test their products, but this would appear to be an unintentional explosion. Among the missing are Beta Technician Koser, who was last seen the previous evening attending a fancy dress party as Doctor Who Villain Weng Chiang. Also missing is a bond slave. A spokesperson for Supreme Commander Servalan denied that the explosion was the result of terrorist activity by the infamous resistor, Blake, and this may be true, as there are unconfirmed reports of Blake being seen with the Clonemasters, and other unconfirmed reports of Blake being seen leaving the Clonemaster facility with Supreme Commander Servalan and Space Commander Travis. Yet another report suggests a body matching Blake’s description was removed from the Cone Master’s facility. Joining me now is Councillor Joban. Councillor, what do we make of these conflicting reports? Thank you for having me, Lee. As you may know, Central Security receives many reports of alleged Blake sightings. It would appear that these recent rumors of a Blake with Commander Travis, who has pledged repeatedly to kill Blake on sight, as well as other sightings with the Clone Masters and certain unnamed planets, are nothing more than BDS. BDS, Councilor? Blake Derangement Syndrome, Lee. The other day, the offices at Federation Security were covered in dust. Some attributed this to Blake introducing a toxic powder into the ventilation system, but it turns out that Psychostrategist Carnell simply forgot to pay the cleaners. Psychostrategist Carnell, Councillor? Never heard of him, Lee, and neither have you. In other news, there are unconfirmed reports that Space Commander Travis has been placed on Administrative Leave. 1. Weapon? Chains for ultimate enslavement! Submit or die at the press of a button. No resistance, no running, no hiding - that was the intention of the Terran Govern...aa... Federation with this project. 2. Puppeteer - he not only predicts your every move, he pulls the strings to make you do it. And how can he know your personality so well? Phones, messengers, emails, conversations with AI - your personality is there, and he knows it better than you do yourself. 3. "We may copy life. We may not create new forms." = "we may not create GMO". Very optimistic! Our Federation has already far surpassed the B7 in every vice. 4. Another unambiguous demonstration that Orac (or whatever is linked to the box) continues to function even when the box is powered down, implying that it operates beyond the physical device. “get on with it”, Blake says, and switches Orac off - similar behavior in other eps. That feels like a hidden message, because it’s a major unexplained mystery - something that’s unlikely in B7. I’d be glad to hear any theories of what this message could be. |
