UK Rewatch - C1 Aftermath (Tuesday, July 8th)

Alpha Grade Posts: 9299 Joined: 16.01.22	The episode: Colin One – Aftermath (Carry On Doing Watersports) The date: Tuesday, July 8th, 2025 The time: 7.45pm UK time In which we can get out our stopwatches to record the length of the Intergalactic War; the fates of Vila and Cally are left in the balance, while Blake and Jenna go ‘the other way’; Avon moves to top billing and gets to snog both Dayna and Servie; the local Rent-A-Tribe take their Annual Leave to go to Bamburgh beach for two weeks; Servie shoots a blind man in the back; and some curly-haired chap turns up in the closing seconds. Episode in a word: Aftermath (can’t beat the episode title in this case). Characters to cheer: Dayna is immediately likeable, while Jacs smoulders as Servie in this episode. That week must just be worth it. Character to boo: Chel needs some stress balls, like Rimmer in “Red Dwarf”, to help him chill out a bit. Grind those balls, Chel! Is Soolin looking lovely this week?: Yes. Recognisable Face, or rather voice: Cy Grant (Hal Mellanby) was Lieutenant Green in Captain Scarlet. How cool is that? I don’t think he can be related to Del Grant, since he’s not ginger. Oh, and look out for the cameo by Captain Mike Yates and the Tereptil Leader (both from Doctor Who) as doomed Federation Troopers. Best exchange: MELLANBY: “You were magnificent.” AVON: “Not from where I was sitting.” Blake's 7 will return in… Carry On Space Nurse Vote Og.

A spam poster bumped up the Volcano thread and then an over-eager mod put a stickie on the wrong thread (which as a member of the common 'rabble', I can't remove). He said it was only when they got into the editing suite that the interlopers were noticed and it was too late (and would have cost a fortune) to organise a reshoot. I wonder if they are aware that they are now part of TV history!! Cold! You don't know the meaning of the word cold! Cold is when you have ice on the INSIDE of your window!! I mean they may not be like the primitive horseback Sarrans, but we can’t assume that every world has a planet-wide monoculture like in Star Trek can we? From The Electronic Journal of Roj Bear (Avon’s Teddy, if you’re new to these)0 They say this is the Aftermath. Well, after math usually came recess. Maybe that’s why Hal Mellanby gave Avon some nice black pajamas to put on… but I get ahead of myself. The galactic war… We came, We saw, We got our butts kicked. Cally was nice enough to stuff me in the escape pod with The Boss. Jenna and Blake went together, I heard Jenna saying something along the lines of, “We only signed up for two years. I’m going to try farming, I’ll drop you off in Stratford.” Oh, and while hanging with the Mellanbys, the ‘other woman’ showed up. Seriously, the way Servalan and The Boss act, kissing, fighting, kissing, fighting, you’d think they’d been married for years. I think maybe Servie caught The Boss kissing Dayna. This led to a messy divorce, Servie got Orac, but The Boss is going to appeal that decision, with a really big gun. Of course, to rescue Servie, I mean, Orac, we have to fight this week’s Rent A Tribe. We get Orac, Servie gets away, Dayna loses her family, so she comes with us, and we get back to Liberator only to find that Blake-Lite has taken over and thinks it’s HIS ship. TTFN, Roj Bear. . . Cockatoo? What Cockatoo? I don't see a Cockatoo!
