The episode: Derek Seven – Assassin (Carry On Killing Piri) The date: Tuesday, November 12th, 2024 The time: 7.45pm UK time A reminder of the Season Derek drinking game, with one special addition for this episode: Here’s the number of sips/swigs per each of these: Avon is knocked unconscious 1 A scientist dies (per scientist) 5 A member of the main cast wears the same costume as last week (per costume) 2 There’s the sequence (or part of the sequence) of Scorpio landing / taking off at Xenon Base 3 Vila drinks something red (per scene) 10 Tarrant falls in love 5 Soolin shoots someone (per person) 5 Slave says “sorry” (each mention) 1 Each mention of “Sleer” 2 Avon laughs manically and/or smiles inappropriately 5 There’s a downbeat ending in sharp contrast to the jangly end theme 10 The final shot of the episode includes Paul Darrow 3 A member of the main cast is killed or stunned (per cast member) 1 bottle of wine / 1 can of beer Caroline Holdaway is terrible in a scene 8 Back to the episode, and Avon comes up with a plan so bad that Blake would have been proud of it, and then he and Tarrant proceed to see which one can act more stupidly. Also, shock, horror, no scientists were harmed in the making of this episode. Or does the First Doctor count, since he dies in this episode? And ladies, get those Vems ready, because there’s a slave auction coming up which may involve a certain computer expert. But, more than anything, this is an episode that is all about our favourite female gunslinger. The episode title even makes two references to her bottom. Episode in a word: Assassin (yup an episode which does exactly what it says on the tin). Character to cheer: Soolin. Definitely Soolin. In this episode, she is looking lovely (hooray!), slaps Piri (hooray!), works out the plot (hooray!), saves Avon's life (hooray!), kills Piri (a huge HOORAY!!!) and has the last word (hooray!). Character to boo: Piri. No further explanation necessary! Is Soolin looking lovely this week: See “Character to Cheer”. Recognisable Face: Richard Hundrall (Neebrox) played the First Doctor in The Five Doctors in 1983. His casting seems to have come about after JNT saw him in this and decided he could pull off being William Hartnell. Best exchange: “TARRANT: “Domo the ninth?” VILA: “Son of Domo the Eighth, presumably.” Blake's 7 will return in “Carry Up The Quarry Yet Again.” Vote Og.

I prithee, let me bring thee where crabs grow; Tempest II, i A crab doing a fantastic spider impression. The reason being they didn't have a crab, so nicked an animatronic spider that had been used in Doctor Who (the story Full Circle). Vote Og.

Hi still unemployed, still got ear infection, little cough(chest infection gone) skin up bad, I think it’s where I’m run down.
