Rewatch Downunder Saturday 6th April B1 Redemption
M1795537OCVirn
Starting at 8.30pm (AEODT) and 10.30am (BST) UK viewers please note the change of time.

B2 Redemption
In which Orac takes the starring role, starting as he/it means to go on, by being too smart for his/its own good, then tries to redeem itself/himself by proving himself/itself right. Meanwhile, Avon lets Cally use his proddy tool (ahem) and Blake takes on a heroic fight with a vicious length of cable
We meet some blue people who are big on 'Reclaim, Reboot and Recycle' - particularly with regard to their own spaceships. The crew visit a power station, Gan overpowers his limiter yet again and the System scores an own goal.
Come with us to the other end of the galaxy!

For a moment I thought you meant the Ultra, but it's the Altas, of course.

They're not the only ones recycling. I'm pretty certain the music used for the System is later repurposed by Dudley Simpson for the Federation, notibly in "Warlord" and as "The Federation March" on the B side of the B7 theme music single.

I often get mixed up between Redemption and Ultraworld. Almost the same story, really.
Both of them give Orac the starring role, albeit not always a helpful one. And the vicious wires are reworked from - was it Time Squad?
None of these episodes hold much interest for me personally since Servalan isn't in them. I'll just have to hope the transcontinental conversation makes up for it. Looking forward to it!

Hi people, sorry I'm late – had to drag myself from my sickbed. Then had trouble ejecting a disc stuck in my external drive. We're here now though. How are you MsVirn? Pilot?

My favourite part was when ORAC gave his prediction on how the Liberator was destroyed ( sister ship)

Hello. Sorry to hear that you're ill, Obsidian. Not one of my favourite episodes either - it seems a bit of a comedown when we found out who the original owners of the Liberator were.

Yes. It's seems every time I make a return plane trip I catch something. It's no wonder our heroes get a bit worn out at times.

Blake angsting, and Avon stopping his work for some time to watch/needle him. Everyone else working. Sounds typical.

M1795537OCVirn
OK, so who is filming the Liberator whizzing through space for us?
"You're not sulking, I hope?"

Pilot53
Ms. Virn that utube clip you sent me. Would've liked to see whole movie, Avon seemed like the original one ( Paul Darrow) rather liked him & ORAC still same hasn't changed a bit.

The rain is a bit boring after having a wet holiday. Somehow I missed summer.

A question that needs to be asked in most flashbacks.

Sorry to hear that. Plane travel is so stressful anyway - I'm sure that contributes to making people ill.

That's the whole thing. With some rather special actors having a lot of fun. Glad you watched it! I thought Mackenzie Crook made a great Servalan, especially when playing the slot machines.

Hi AnneA. I hope you recovered from your lurgy.

I quite like the Altas and definitely like the System model.

Hi everyone!

Sorry to hear you aren't well, Obsidian. I hope the rain isn't hitting you too hard.

I'm having a computer issue where sometimes typing on my keyboard causes the web browser to lock up. Not sure why. If I go silent or disappear, I'm restarting (or giving up).

AnneArthur
How do they not recognise those attack ships? They are so obviously mini-Liberators.

I think he's great as Servalan. I love the whole idiocy of it.

Sounds nasty. Hope you have a proddy tool handy.

Think been better if they captured the sister ship then Avon could go on his merry way & regroup his own crew .

It was all a bit blurry on their screen, I suppose.

Yes, feeling a lot better, thank you. Now I have to get the house ready for a guest arriving tomorrow.

The Altas don't quite work for me - perhaps with a little more thought they might have become something rather good.

I was going to ask, has the crew ever seen Liberator from the outside? If not, then they don't have anything to compare the System ships to.... but they must have, becuase they recognise Liberator when they see Orac's prediction. But how? When did they see the exterior of the ship?

I do think they are extremely wasteful – typically human, in fact. Without the Altas they could perhaps have made something of the System, especially given how ORAC comes to the fore. Blake NOT the visionary he thinks he is.
