Watching Glynis as Servalan would be very entertaining.

I could see her doing a very good job with the role, should a reboot ever be done.

With the rights to the programme in such a mess, it probably won't happen though.

I thought she was working with Servalan all along. The feds just happen to corner Blake and Avon on Soolin's home plant. That can't be a coincidence. Grin

That’s an interesting theory I’ve never heard before.

And she was ruthless enough to volunteer her twin sister for mutoid modfication.

I've got mixed feelings on this really. Yes, I would like to see the show back on TV (I assume we're talking a tv reboot here), but with 3 major stars of the show no longer with us and no Terry or Chris to write it or give it direction, would it be the same show I remember from my childhood or essentially just a brand new sci-fi show?

Yes please, Glynis would make an excellent Servalan.
Vote Og.

Well, it calls to mind Brian Eno's 'Oblique Strategies' approach whereby, among other things, he'd get the bands he was producing to swap instruments once in a while. (Explains why Carlos Alomar ended up playing drums on Bowie's 'Boys Keep Swinging', for instance.) I reckon, if Brian had been given the reins of B7, he might have tried shaking things up with an episode where, for instance:

Paul D played Vila
Gareth T played Travis
Jacqueline P played Cally
Jan C played Jenna
Sally K played Servalan
David J played Blake
Michael K played Avon
Stephen G played Gan.

I agree, especially considering all the complaints Doctor Who has gotten about poor writing as of late.

That's all a bit gender-stereotyped isn't it? Why not do what we do here for play readings and draw character names out of a hat? My randomised version resulted in

Series A
Gareth plays Zen,
Paul plays Vila
Sally plays Servalan,
Michael plays Travis 1
Jan plays Orac,
Peter T plays Jenna
Stephen plays Cally,
Jacks plays Blake
David plays Avon,
Peter T also plays Gan (he doesn't have many lines).

I particularly like the idea of the Cally/Orac crossover - would Orac become telepathic?
For later series, when you pick again you'd have to remember to substitute the new characters as they arrive, of course, but I think we all know who they are meant to replace. Simple.
Although if Soolin wants to play Servalan, you'd better let her. After all, they're both killers.

I certainly think Glynis could be ruthless etc as Servalan, but what would happen about the hair?

Randomly generated casts - definitely the way forward. I do like the thought of Michael K playing Travis the First. Neat twist. Underestimate at your peril.
