Thought I’d post this here since I’m not sure who’ll look back at last weeks rewatch.

Really sorry I missed the rewatch on Saturday BTW. I hope to be there for Rumours of Death. :-)

Hi, Pilot53. How come you're so early? You should know by now that the Saturday rewatch people are almost always late, and anyway, the earliest they could start is at half-past.

Poor Tyce. You've had a bad run this past few weeks. Recovering from COVID takes longer than one expects. Hope you can be with us next time.

No not COVID, I have an infection that is being persistant. I can’t take penicillin as I am allergic to it and the tablets they are giving me are making me feel sick. I’m sure I’ll be fine I just need to go to bed.

Sorry to hear the weather in the UK is so ridiculously hot. Take care. And I don’t know if you know about our slip slop slap campaign from the 80’s and 90’s but effectively it is to stop you getting skin cancer. So don’t forget to avoid getting sunburnt by slipping on a shirt, slapping on some sunscreen and slapping on a hat. :-)

Then I was misinformed. I was told you had covid when in the UK. Still sorry to hear you're not well, and it does seem to be dragging on for you. Poor old lass.

You weren’t misinformed M1795537OCVirn, I did have COVID while in the UK but I was quadruple vaxxed (had my 4th jab 2 weeks before leaving Australia) so I only had a little snuffle and I shook it off very quickly. In fact until you mentioned it I hadn't even thought about it again. :-)

I have a few other issues though – but they are related to health problems I’ve had most of my life – I’ll be fine I just have to pace myself sometimes. Thank you for your kind thoughts.

Sorry people, I’m not well this week so I need to give the rewatch a miss.

Sorry, to hear that Tyce. Get well soon!

I'm still under the weather with Covid, but on the plus side it means I have to stay at home instead of running around doing errands for the in-law, so I can join the rewatch.

Really sorry to hear you are still having issues with COVID Travisina. I really hope you can shake it off soon.

Going back to the 'illnesses' discussion, I was watching this in bed the other day when I was feeling miserable and I found the masks rather interesting. They seem to be layers of gauze with a rubber thing from the top of a floor mop stuck on the front.

When I first tried to wear a mask I completely freaked out - in public. Embarrasing isn't the word. I just about managed one of those useless face shields, like Franton's. Mostly I've just stayed home!

Oh dear, sorry to hear that. I'm fine with masks. Before these were widely available (or indeed, available at all), I used to improvise with scarves etc. I prefer cloth ones, because the paper ones are so wasteful and bad for the environment. As for their efficiency - ah, who knows.

I wear a mask most places – impossible to where one everywhere – but I do my best. As Obsidian said many people here still wear them infact our government had just ramped up advertising to encourage more people to wear them. I cant believe the UK government doesn’t do this and was shocked when I was over there to see how many people didn’t. I fact I got flack from people in the UK for wearing one – particularly taxi drivers.

I confess I wear the paper ones (P2 – not surgical or N95) because I know these meet Australian standards (I am careful to dispose of them properly). Cloth masks are fine though as long as they have 3 layers of material. Single layer cloth masks aren’t recommended.

Hello. Who’s your here? :-)

Hi from VIRN, now looking even greener because we've had a bit of rain. How is everyone. Guess we're waiting the usual 5 minutes.

Hi MsVirn. Glad to hear you've had some rain. It was weird to see brown grass in parks in London.

You forget, darling, I'm in the North, Our grass didn't get hot enough to go brown. But it hasn't rained as much as usual, so it was nice to have normal weather (ie. mostly drizzling) back.

Glad you're feeling a bit better. I was ill after getting back and was too tired to watch. Just couldn't face it. Something has to be badly wrong for that to occur.

Are we starting or waiting?

That bench Avon is lying on looks to be wood. I think it’s supposed to give the impression of being concrete.

Hello eveyone. Sorry I'm late. Glad everyone is feeling a bit better. We had a lot of rain at the beginning of the week, and it's cooler now, which is a relief.

Avon does the full gamut of emotions in this ep. and is all kinds of everything.

I hope Janet liked the 5 day growth.

I've had quite a good week in work terms. Translating a 16th century treatise on shoes, which is fun, and am also looking at some documents that a woman's law firm were getting rid of. The first one turned out to be a copy of someone buying the rights to the customs from several ports from Francis Walsingham, Queen Elizabeth's minister. So fun! I've also got a job interview on the 30th, for a job translating the works of Gerald of Wales.

Shrinker's acting always disappointed me

What happened to the rebellion? Something that HAS been greatly exaggerated.

Avon's plan is very risky - it could so easily have gone horribly wrong.

That all sounds like fun. Shoes ✔︎ rare historical documents ✔︎ Job interview ✔︎ Good luck with that last one.

Grenlee and Forres are one of the great double acts. Funny to see David Haig so young.

Have to admit that this is one of my favourite Avon costumes. Had a good finger of it at Forever Avon.

I do like Grenlee and Forres. Among the best of the Blakes 7 Federation functionaries.

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone. I doiubt that the document is that rare or valuable, but it is interesting. The original might still be in existence somewhere.

Usually yes, but on this occasion I don't think he does. It is an incredibly risky thing that he is doing, and it shows how much Anna means to him.

M1795537OCVirn
Meant.
"You're not sulking, I hope?"

AnneArthur
It's tempting to speculate about Anna's resistence, and what would have happened if they had succeeded.

Obsidian
I've said before that I can't see Avon going for this Anna, but on reflection, after a rewatch earlier in the week (testing out a set-top box) I think it's that he would be less attracted to the Anna with the boofy councillor's-wife hair and more attracted to the cheeky, impish person who confronts Servalan. That they are one and the same person would have clinched it for him – the multi-dimensional, when-I-need-to-be-I-am person works now I come to think of it. Does that make sense? I'm drivelling.
