Great start, Joe!

Cheap? Chalkpits? Cally@gmail.com? Oh, you fiend Ms Virn! Nothing I think of has seven letters. Calcos, if I don't spell it with 'K's? Aargh!

AnneArthur
I love the Christmas present (although I'm sure Vila was the sort of person who always opened his presents early, then carefully wrapped them up again).

And is Chevron one of the words, by any chance?

Lurena
Thank you for starting the Advent calendar again Joe!
And what a promising start! So much fun and very nice to look forward to and it brightens up the dark days!

As for the "C", Carnell, B-3: WEAPON, should be among them I guess. As does Crandor, C-4: DAWN OF THE GODS?
*No, I am not. I am not expendable, I'm not stupid, and I'm not going.*

No answers until the 24th, Lurena!

Great picture JD. Cant wait to see what's in the box. ;-)

Virn, I have some words for the Federation (not all of them printable here LOL) but you say no answers till 24 December. Do you want me to PM them to you??

AnneArthur
That's a lovely poster, Tyce!

AnneArthur
Huh. I see that Chevron (Avon's alias in Powerplay) won't work, because apparently it is actually spelt Shevron. So can I suggest instead Chevner (Project Avalon), and Cephlon (Deliverance)?

M1795537OCVirn
Great (if misguided) poster, Tyce.
She's also leading the WORD competition so far, with five out her twelve WORDs also on my list. And yes, I'll take PM's.
Paula - your jokes are perfect for the Christmas crackers I'm making. Mind if I steal some of them?
"You're not sulking, I hope?"

Lorna
I too had a little giggle at Vila's jokes😀
I look behind me, what do I see? A pair of golden wings seem to be attached to me.

They are from Uncle Vila, and he always said stealing's easier. Please, go ahead.

Ah Paula, classic Christmas Cracker jokes there. :-)

I'd love to know what reimagined B7 ideas Paul and Terry had.

Joe Dredd
Great photo, Tyce. Which one of ABBA is he? Also, are you sitting down or Crouching?

Ha ha ha!

Loved the guy you were sitting with, Tyce. We got to schmooze with him last year at our local convention. He's a riot and you never know what he'll get up to! Thanks for sharing it, made me giggle.

It was mostly what Paul Darrow used to speak of, the character of Avon being sort of like Napoleon in exile and waiting for his chance and the end to finally come. She seemed to be more knowledgeable of the Daleks and other Doctor Who things but it was a joy to at least hear a bit about our beloved program!

That’s pretty cool dodgyviile. I do wonder if when they reversed it, if they enlarged the size of the compartments nearest to what I would describe as the three ‘needles’? Because it looks like if it was going with the Dome forward, it wouldn’t be aerodynamic with those larger compartments - you would think it would taper off towards the ‘needles’. This is a bit of a rhetorical question - I sort of musing - because you may not know the answer.

I'm guessing the only difference was that the BBC model folk added all the little details after the model came into their possession. I think the big conceptual change is that if the current model is literally just turned around, then the scale is way different. The Liberator we know and love could be 900m long but the reversed version feels much smaller.

Well, no-one could ever accuse me of being a deep thinker

LOL You cracked me up OSP with this comment long before I got into your reminiscing…..

You’ve articulated the past and it’s nostalgia brilliantly - and from one ABBA fan….. errr… umm…. I mean Blake’s 7 fan …… well okay both……. to another I can honestly say I really enjoyed reading your jottings.

OSP, I love that you asked your brothers for their views on B7. Inquiring minds want to know, does the oldest still have a thing for Servalan?

Early teens seems to be prime age for getting invested in shows/books. I was bout the same age when I discovered Star Trek and B7.

Paula
Great job, OSP.

Dear OSP, I, too, was a Star Trek fan. Went to various conventions etc. Met James Doohan and George Takie....and then along came ST The Motion Picture.....

Then, sometime in December 1977 along came my friend Julie with the Radio Times Double Issue.
Hey, she said, there's a new programme starting in Jan. Called Blakes 7 and its written by that Terry Nation Chap..

Now I had always liked Mr Nation's work. Seeing his name on credits with The Champions, Dept S, The Baron etc and of course Dr Who with the lovely William Hartnell.
So I read the article in the Radio Times, but couldn't keep it as Julie's parents wanted the RT back.
Went to see a new sci film on the Saturday, Dec 31. It was called Star Wars...you may have heard of it.
I didn't like it. I thought it had put Sci Fi back years...
Anyway, come Monday Evening 2nd Jan at 5.15pm.
1 Child almost asleep...
When that Character Blake said, no, I'm coming back straight to camera, I was hooked..
Then an agonising wait for a whole week and then Space Fall.....need I say more.
This 23 year old (married with 1 little girl), went all weak at the knees.
Who is this good looking fella who is arrogant, rude, nasty...
I eventually got to meet said character at Teal Vandor in 1981 and I was a nervous wreck
It took a few more years before I got up the courage to actually have a photo take with Mr D when Sarah, Daughter no 2, dragged me up to London and the Cinema Museum.
She waylaid Mr D in a corridor and asked if she could take a photo of me and him.
Certainly...
She had to bark 'SMILE' at him for another shot...he did!!!
So yes, after all these years and all the memories I still love the show and now I have another Blue Ray box set to watch after Christmas.
I wonder if I can introduce Grandson's new girlfriend to B7 or would it be too old fashioned for her.
Thanks for all the memories OSP. It was lovely reading them!

WOW!
I love this Advent Calender! You all are so clever and such devoted B7 fans!
I enjoy seeing the photo's, Tyce's convention report and all the others with everyone meeting our beloved actors.
You made me smile with your images, stories and made me thinking with your puzzles.
I have to admit that I have very very busy times as always during Advent and Christmas, so I haven't completed all puzzles yet.
And for sure, I have to be very careful not to mix the texts of the official carols with the texts I've read here! LOL!

Good work, BlueyH! I hope the glass in the portholes can resist a cricket ball hit for six at close quarters.

I was doing something similar. I told it to create some wrapping paper.

Not sure why Servalan was stuck a the end of the row, rather than being the centre of attention, but it's definitely her! Great stuff, BlueyH. And just because you Aussies thrashed us before doesn't mean you'll do it again. Have fun at the cricket!
"You're not sulking, I hope?"

I've been enjoying everyone's contributions. Well done all of us! It's been a lot of fun seeing what each new day brings!

Lurena - loved your matchup puzzle. I haven’t got to your jigsaw yet but I will.

BlueyH - I’m not much of a Simpsons fan but with your Blake’s 7 twist I could easily become one.

Virn - sorry but I’ll be using the rebels calendar thanks anyway. ;-) Frown

Ellen York - I love Christmas songs. Thanks for your selection.

Also well done Anne Arthur for putting your name down in the last vacant spot. We were struggling a little bit at the beginning there - I’m so pleased to see everyone contributing. You are such a wonderfully creative bunch. :-)

Paula
Can't wait to do the puzzles, Hugbot. And TT, all I can say is bravo! Loved your storyl
