Great episode, despite everything. Nice to hear from you again. I'm off to do the aforementioned welcome letters and upload a pile of images for the SC. Take care everyone. See you again soon!

'Tis indeed. Travis' last words should come to haunt Blake. Have a good week everyone!
Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Evidence for Blake's 'goodness' working against him? I f he had been less concerned about his motivation, he would have killed Travis, and, despite what he says here, things would probably have been a lot easier for him.

I wrote a fanfic once where they ended up on a planet with a nice climate, but I've had a look through several memory sticks and can't find it. If I ever do, I will post it!

Have a good week, everyone.

Here is the mini-fic. It was written many years ago for a prompt of 'Planetary Conditions' on a B7 forum on Livejournal. It's called 'Paradise'.

'This is the life.' Vila closed his eyes and stretched out. The warmth of the sun was made even more pleasant by a slight breeze off the sea, and the soothing sound of the waves mingled with the cries of birds in the palm-like trees beyond the beach. If he filtered out the inevitable argument taking place to his left, life would be quite perfect.
Unfortunately, filtering out the argument was easier said than done. Tarrant's voice was loud and insistent.
'Look, Avon,' he was saying, 'I know that Blake isn't here, and that's a pity, but this world would still make a great place for a base. It's in an excellent strategic location, there are caves in the cliffs back there we could adapt, and we would hardly need supplies. There's so much game and fruit here - we could practically live by hunting and gathering, like primitives.'
'Well, so you want to play at being a primitive,' sneered Avon. 'Now, there's a surprise. I, on the other hand, am a civilised human being and I would like to live like one.'
'I'm only suggesting this place as a base, Avon, not a permanent home. You said yourself that we can't run forever, that we need somewhere to relax. Just look at Vila - I've never seen anyone so relaxed.'
'Mhm,' Vila assented. He was far too comfortable to speak.
'And look at you,' Tarrant went on, 'sitting there bolt upright, fully clothed, looking miserable. For goodness's sake unwind, let your hair down a bit - you might even enjoy it!'
'I burn.'
'Well, OK, so keep your clothes on - but lie back, feel the breeze on your face, listen to the birds. Go to sleep, even. This is heaven!'
'You go to sleep - it's about your level. I have more important things to do.'
'And when you're dying?' asked Tarrant, seriously. 'Will all those important things be a comfort then, Avon? I . . . '
'Come on Tarrant,' yelled Dayna from the sea, interrupting him. 'I thought you said you wanted to swim?'
'Coming!' Tarrant got to his feet. 'Think about it, Avon, I'm serious. This would be a good base.' He went, and Vila smiled. Tarrant splashing and laughing with Dayna in the distance was a nice soothing noise - much better than Tarrant arguing with Avon close at hand.
'They're young, Avon,' said Cally quietly. 'And they didn't know Blake. Let them have their fun - it's not as if we have any urgent leads. And he's right - when we do find Blake again, this would be a very good spot for a base.'
Avon grunted.
'Yes? Any good reason why that is such a bad idea? Other than that it's Tarrant's, of course?' Cally's voice was mischievous.
'There are any number of reasons why it would be a disastrous idea. Principal among them the fact that none of you would do anything other than lie around in the sun.'
'Ah . . . you prefer us stressed out and irritable, then? Making mistakes because we are exhausted? Be glad you don't have to know what that ship feels like to an Auron sometimes, Avon! Whereas here, apart from you, all I can sense is happiness all around me . . .'
'Well, I'll think about it.' Vila was realistic about just how much of a concession that was. 'Meanwhile, I need to go up to the ship to consult ORAC. Can I ask you to make sure that the others are back on board by 1800, ship time, please?' Vila felt him get to his feet. 'ORAC, bring me up, please.'
Despite Cally's best efforts, it was well beyond 1800 when the crew of the Liberator finally teleported aboard. Vila took one last look at the planet, as the setting sun turned the sea to molten gold and the parrots flew, squawking, to roost in the trees.
'I knew Blake was never going to be here,' he said, to no-one in particular. 'The climate's far too good.'

No JD again. Last week, I had to comment on his posts that he made ‘after’ the rewatch because he turned up so late.

That was very kind of you. Let's hope that twit learns to tell the time.

here we have the whole idea of Rebels vs Federation in a nutshell. Each side has its champion, and surely it is better and safer for everyone else if they fight it out with each other?

Do you think this is where Teal and Vandor got the idea?
