Opening the airlock really shouldn't do that to Zukan's ship - very poorly designed, I think. But perhaps the bomb exploded as he was expelling it?

I always assumed that was so: the bomb explodes as he tries to eject it.

How come Avon gets to say what Tarrant can and can't do?

I don't think you understand what being a ruthless dictator is all about...

It's tough, evidently. There's a conscience of sorts, it's not plugged into the correct jack, that's all.

Which is what 'madness' is all about, really. Alternative wiring.

Actually, current thinking is that it's not exactly the whole story. Environmental, or exogenous, effects are what affects the majority of us 'mad' folks, rather than endogenous.

Before we all head off, I need to ask if anybody has looked at my friend’s illustration on the advent calendar thread? I would love to give him some feedback. (preferably positive feedback)

The moral of the episode? PPE is important, folks.
Right, then. Not much point watching the last bit of B7, since Servalan isn't in it.

I think it's more a case of someone has to make a decision about something because headless-chickendom will affect them all.

Avon's hair is a bit too black, and not blowing romantically in the wind, but otherwise it's fun and captures the mood quite well.

It is, and Zeeona's gruesome end is an indicator that things are unlikely to get any better. There's such foreboding in it that the jaunty Series D/4 music seems rather tasteless.

Agreed, but Tarrant gives in so easily. i mean, Zeeona is clearly the love of his life...

I think realising that Tarrant doesn't really love her plays a big part in Zeeona's death. That and her father's treachery.

Haven't had a chance to look yet Tyce. No idea what I'm going to do. Getting grouchy about the fact that people seem to be filling my week with other 'stuff', leaving little time in which to get creative. WAH!

Don't you feel anxious about it all? I do. There's an overwhelming feeling throughout that ep of impending doom. Poor Tarrant is never going to be happy because they're now on a hiding to nowhere.

I like it - especially Servalan's dress. Definitely a scarlet woman - she should wear red more often! And the boa is great.

I don't know if this is hindsight, but I feel that they have been on a hiding to nowhere since episode 1 - any victories have been small and temporary. And actually, I think that, if he had lived another six months or so, Tarrant would have been in a fair way to getting over it - I think that that is one of the things that drove Zeeona to kill herself.

I was about to say much the same. They don't have a hope of winning against the Federation. All they can do is enjoy the time they have, as far as that's possible. By Series D, everything is suffering. Once the relationships have gone, the've already lost.

Perhaps my use of the word feedback was wrong. I just want to let him know that his hard work was appreciated by Horizon members.

No, I don't think it's hindsight at all AA. The whole feeling of the show is one in which the main premise is all honorable and everything but, ultimately, untenable. But there are certain episodes which seem to raise the feeling of tension and that is one. Zeeona probably wouldn't have frizzled so earlier on. And I agree totally about Tarrant. It's that whole thing where people, animals, plants, are facing doom, they attempt to reproduce because that's the biological imperative. Tarrant and Zeeona are drawn together in just those circumstances.

OK, I'll set up the thread for Blake on Saturday, but I don't guarrantee to join in. I've never watched the whole thing yet, and avoiding it twice in one week would be OTT. Also, I'll have a lot of cooking to do on Christmas Eve Eve.

Are you avoiding the first rewatch? Wow! Christmas cooking I understand, very demanding, although last year I just said I'm off to watch for an hour, talk amongst yourselves.

I'll probably be there for some of the first one, just because.
