It's a bit sad to think of Avon spending days/weeks/months painting that picture of Anna. I always assumed it was Vila, as he set up the cave. But how would Vila know what she looked like? Photograph? The one Avon was looking at in Space Fall? That was a photograph? Or, Avon just ordered Orac to download one from the Fed database. Too bad Orac didn't tell Avon he got the photograph from Central Security Personnel.  |

Just had a thought. Yes, that's what that horrible noise was... Anyway, Avon has been 'interrogated' for over 5 days which puts him into a similar mental state to Blake after he got flashbacks to HIS interrogation. It explains the weird behaviour of Avon after this and supplies an answer to Blake's earlier behaviour. Silflay hraka, u embleer rah!

No, that's a middling to high for me. Not as good as City at the Edge of the World, for example. But I like to think that Anna was sincere, that she loved Avon and when she guessed that he was with Blake she became a convert to the political cause for his sake (ironically, more of a convert than he ever was), and that he destroyed a woman who would have been a valuable ally. The episode seems to demand that, IMO. But certainly, this is where his mental decline sets in. |
