Had to? What did you do?

Tyce, OBE - Ordered out of the British Empire.

I was ‘torn between two lovers’ as the song says. Benny Andersson’s Orchestra was playing at the Circus Theatre in Stockholm on 11 June. It is probably the last time they will ever play. Tickets were like hens teeth, but I managed to acquire one. So unfortunately or fortunately depending on your perspective - off to Stockholm again it was.

I think if Travis really had killed Blake he'd be gloating a lot more enthusiastically.

Sounds great - hope it went well.

I was thinking the same, but he wasn't when he shot the Blake clone at the start of 'Weapon' - but he knw it was a clone and he was demanding the other clone be brought to him, so perhaps it's not an entirely equivalent situation.

it was amazingly, unbelievably, off the scale, stupendously awesome.

That's a good thought, Anne.

Why doesn't Travis shoot Avon? He's already aiming at them. Avon has to get up and whirl around to shoot Travis. Travis should've had enough time to react. Fair enough he could have been so hurt that his shot would've gone wild, but it would've been more dramatic (and realistic).

Maybe killing Blake (again, if you count the clone) wasn't quite as important as selling out the whole of humanity. After all, if you can't rule'em (because Servalan isn't the sort to share nicely), destroy them.

Avon is so gallant there - NOT. He hands the cylinder full of explosives to Cally.

The High Council would want to protect their investment in Star One, for sure.

"Why didn't you stay in the medical unit?" - their last exchange until the end of "Blake".

Some poor alien has been winding it up repeatedly for the last 30 million light years.

I think he's too badly injured - he's struggling to stay on his feet, and he probably isn't seeing straight. It takes him an extra minute or two to work out which of the two Avons he is probably seeing is the real one, and in that minute Avon acts.

Watching the credits - Parton, Marcol, and Leeth.

It goes to show how long since I last paid attention to the credits. "Leeth" I remember, but not Marcol. There's a good B7 name, along the lines of Bercol.

I don't believe Blake always trusted Avon - but he wants to believe he did, so he convinces himself it's true. And Avon thinks it through, but remembers he has a more pressing engagement.

I think that's right.

Joe Dredd
"I've always trusted you, Avon... trusted you to look after yourself first, at the expense of everyone else (etc)."

It reminds me of a sitcom I saw where the manager is berating the staff - "You're all like children to me, and I expect from you what any father expects from his children... Ungratefulness! Sarcasm! Feeble excuses, and lies!"

They sound like place-names to me. Parton is certainly part of Whitehaven.

That is a very dramatic ending. It must have been agonizing, seeing it when it first came out and not knowing what was going to happen.

Anyway, nice to see you all. See you next week on Bamburgh beach, where there is a lot of careful photography to avoid a) the castle, and Cool the Farne Islands.

No,it’s like when Blake says to Vila (when Villa is trying to take off Blake’s explosive necklace in Bounty) that he trust Vila. Vila says if this thing blows up, I blow up too and Blake replies that’s why I trust you. Blake trust Avon because he knows Avon has his own reasons for sticking with Blake.

Yes, and having to wait so long.

We know what's going to happen and it's still a pretty exciting episode.

Bother. Our friends (well, my husband's friends...) have arrived an hour before they said they would. Great. Now I have to find lunch for them. Fun rewatch, everyone, but I shall have to get busy. Glad to see the demise of the Andromedan Pizza - the flavour never caught on - and I'd love to see more of Joe's gifs!
See you next time!

Well, thank you everyone.

Good night.

I was in Tassie on holiday and my phone broke and unfortunately I missed my reminder for this. To miss a SERIES FINALE is UNFORGIVABLE. Off on The London for me.

You can be forgiven, dodgyville. I think the rebels probably sabotaged your phone. Can't trust them. See you next time!
