Hello. Anne, btw. Sorry I didn't say so earlier!

Why are the two computers so bent on saving humankind from AI? Actually, it's just ORAC, isn't it? Slave is being over-ridden by the robot. I'm spending too much time chatting and not enough watching. Sorry. Just ORAC makes more sense - ORAC and Slave in agreement seemed a bit improbable.

Hello! Don't worry, I took the greeting as read.

Because humans provide their power sources?

I thought they weren't interested in saving the "organics" at all.
Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

If you're looking for the bedrooms, there's a basic Scorpio floor plan of sorts here:

I like Soolin's role as the cool customer in this. It gives her one at last.

There's also a plan in the Liberator manual.

Those helmets are a bit rubbish.

Shoot Tarrant, you dill brain.

Did Avon get the resuscitation room for the base at the same time as the cryo units for Scorpio?

Honestly Vila, unless Muller is wearing Cuban heels, it's obviously a woman walking around outside your cupboard.

It's not the style, more the fact that they are visibly falling off a lot of the time.

At this stage they also don't join to the suits either, which means no protection at all and is why they fall off. By the time Zeeona wears one, they are joined.

Well of course Blake's 7 heroes laugh at danger and don't need proper helmets. They are immortals, as we are curerntly proving.

I don't mind it but it's not on any of my favourites lists. I like the concept just not necessarily the execution.

It's trying for a sort of zombie/horror effect, but it doesn't really work because the robot is so ridiculous. And because it's so ridiculous, the idea that it represents some sort of all-powerful AI doesn't work either.

I'm generally pretty immune to dodgy effects, but this is one case where, for me, they really spoil the story.

Avon up a power pole is kinda funny to this daughter of an electrical engineer. And, I should add, grand-daughter of an electrical engineer. My father would have had a laugh over this power plant bit.

Certainly not my favourite episode but I hate Animals more that’s any consolation.

Also as Obsidian said, Soolin’s role is great. In fact, I also like the interaction between her and Vila, particularly when she asks “Is this a private game or can anyone play?” LOL

M1795537OCVirn
With the AI conference happening in the UK right now, this episode does make the dangers of creating something we can't control evident! As if Mary Shelley wasn't enough.

They get the BEST lines. Except for Orac's parting shot, of course.

It's the way he tosses his cutters away - I can imagine him spending hours searching for them afterwards!

It's what I love about it. The laissez faire attitude. Gives me a good laugh every time. Dad would have loved it too. We saw endless films about power lines being strung out across countries when we were kids.

There's no Blake's 7 episode that doesn't have something to enjoy in it.

It is. I love every episode because they are ours, rubbish or not.
