I don't like Justin's red shoes. Very creepy.

You want the pretty details, like feathers. I want that truth-detecting apparatus.

Don't you? I love 'em, but yes, they are added sleaze.

A full company of troopers was a stupid lie, Dayna. Servalan wouldn't be likely to lose track of such vital troops.

I get the feeling Jacs was having difficulty taking some of this seriously.

They seem decorative rather than effective.

Could be. Somebody had to hold things together so why not have fun doing it?

Has anyone ever asked Peter Byrne about how creepy his character was? Did he know what we think of Justin?
"You're not sulking, I hope?"

Obsidian
As if Justin could "just tell" Servalan how to create create creatures unaffected by radiation. Take notes on the back of her hand.

A lot of similarities between Dayna and Og here - both afraid of being hurt again.

No idea. Haven't read any interviews to that effect that I can remember.

Except that it's meant to be Cally. But it does give her extra ammo for wanting to take out Servie.

I think that's probably the low point of series 4. A couple more mediocre episodes and then the last brilliant half dozen.

Obsidian
For some reason that episode always seems superficial, not that I think it's deep, but it makes me worry that I'm missing things. Maybe they're just not there?

She's supposed to be a 'child'. So she's seen her father die, and now Justin. Another candidate for mental health problems.

I think it wasn't great to begin with, and has been messed around so much that it really has very little going for it. I like the Og monsters, but that's about all, for me.

Yeah, don't know where it went there. Some of the repartee with Vila was good, but it seemed to lose focus somehow.

Definitely not one of the better eps. But Servalan looks good, and delivers her lines perfectly, however unlikely they may be.

Anyway, thanks for the rewatch. I think that, if I keep going, I should just get the book ready on time. Back to work!

I don't think it was messed around with enough! The script is a mess. Maybe Chris Boucher was on hols.

So next it's one of my least favourites. No Servalan, for one thing, and a stupid 'monster' that clearly has room for a head inside its stupid costume. The magnetic mines make their second appearance, too. Always fun. Let's hope the props people have improved their sticking ability.

She does. She holds up her end quite admirably, even though it's plain that Jacs thought it was drivel. She looks the part and says the lines as convincingly as possible.

Good luck Anne! I missed my deadline thanks to unwellness and missing cats. But I am getting there. Be sure to take some breaks, though. We look forward to hearing about it next time. Mxx

Yes, that robot is very unconvincing, and the whole 'killer robot' thing unoriginal.

I think that's exactly what attracted me to her in the first place. Such a great actress. How can anyone say the scripts they gave her and make it believable!? Behold the mutant shall wither!!! But she manages it effortlessly, and clearly enjoys herself doing it.

That's the only bit I don't like really, the silly android that looks like Alan Rickman doing Severus Snape. Can we make a game called "ORAC! ORAC!"?

Worth a try. What do you suggest? I'm already working on having another B7 game ready in time for Steventon. Joe's been giving me some good ideas!

Don't know. I'll let the idea fester in the back of my brain. Haven't had much time lately for things other than jewellery, but I'll let you know if something surfaces. I'm dying to get time to do other things for once. Glad Joe is helping, though. I have some more Crocodile stuff scanned to add to that thread. Maybe you could update that lead once I upload it.

See you next time. Mxx
