Do we know who is responsible for the song? And have they been strung up yet? I could be totally wrong, but I seem to remember B7 Monthly said it was Vere. Yes, it was Vere. It's completely his style. While the 'songs' he wrote were kinda embarrassingly, sweetly coy, I can't fault the man for his energy and efforts for this show. The song is surely exactly the kind of thing a group of ex-cons would write. It's not crude enough. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Brilliant. That frock's good on her. A bit draughty in places, perhaps, but it works for the Fight in the Buddleia Forest. ![]() "Fight in the Buddleia Forest". Yes, I like it a lot, especially the shoulders. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

By all accounts he was a very nice man. I love all the behind-the-scenes stories though (Cally/Sally etc) - it adds another layer of enjoyment to the B7 'cake'. (I should say hello...!) Hello, Obsidian! Hello, Anne! Hello, Poola! |

Hello, Obsidian! Hello, Anne! Hello, Poola! Yes, he's Uncle Vere to me and I never met him, just read everything about him. I love that video from Space City I think it was, when it was Paul's 40th birthday and he said hello to the boys and girls. Such an endearing quality. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

How on earth did Servalan get a white skin to lie on? It's Calcos. But that's a good question. Because she looked as if she should have one? BTW, hello Joe. "You're not sulking, I hope?"

Seems a fair answer to me only I would say because it was the '70s and there were a lot of them going around at that time. Probably from Habitat. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

I'm not convinced Doran is a mysogynist. He just doesn't like women. Maybe he was abused by his five older sisters. And double-crossed by his mum. And dumped by the girl he fell in love with at the academy. And beaten up by his ex-mother-in-law...

Would you prefer 'Buddleia Thickets'? In which case it would have to be a 'Tussle', not a fight.

I'm wondering if the names 'Grose' and 'Lector' are derived from 'gross' and 'lecher', and if so whether the name 'Doran' was transformed from some other negative term. It's probably coincidence and has no bearing. |

It's probably coincidence and has no bearing. The first two almost certainly. LIke when I wrote my pantomime and the two henchmen were called 'Rob' and 'Nick'. "You're not sulking, I hope?"

It's probably coincidence and has no bearing. I don't know. I wondered if they were taken from names in literature, the way that Chris Brookmyre took the name of the character Jack Parlabane from Robertson Davies books, and several other character's names. Do check out his 'Bedlam" and 'Places in the Darkness' for some good sci-fi writing and B7 references. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Well, not one of my favourite episodes. I think the whole 'future human turns out of be a pathetic homunculus' thing is a bit hackneyed. But it has its moments. Death Watch is much more fun, I think. |

Any link with Hannibal Lecter? The episode does reference cannibalism at one point. |
