Morning all. It's my birthday, and as a birthday present I get an episode in which not only is Tarrant given a lot of screen time, but he also gets to use his brain, for the first, and possibly last, time in the series.

Would you like me to sing Happy Birthday in Swedish? :-)

And I can do the Scandi HooRAH, HooRAH, HooRAH afterwards.

Ok, it’s a little hard for me to explain the tune, but needless to say it’s a drinking song - so you sing it with gusto and skull your schnapp at the end of it.

Ja, må hon leva,
Ja, må hon leva,
Ja, må hon leva uti hundrade år!

Ja visst ska hon leva,
Ja visst ska hon leva,
Ja visst ska hon leva uti hundrade år!

Great! I only have water at the moment, but I'll do it properly later. I think I'm seeing 'may you live to be 100' in the lyrics?

Yep. It’s basically wishing you a long life.

I was thinking something vaguely Middle Eastern. Hittites sounds good.

Heard it loads of times in Scandi dramas, hence the offer to provide the cheers at the end. We could record it.Smile

Avon absolutely following the Blake plan of 'never tell your followers what you are doing'. Given how annoying he found it, you would think he would know better.

Vila's grizzled look is a nice touch. Someone thought about the continuity, for once.

Same with Avon looking sweaty and slightly dishevelled when he arrives on Libby and is fighting off the interlopers. It's how he looked just before they left Sarran. Vila looking dirty and unshaven is perfect.

Nobody giving you proper respect, Servalan? Blame the frock. No President should wear a thing like that.

Just finished reading a fic called "I, Avon" in Magnificent Seven 7, in which he explains that. This is Avon years down the track from GP, in a wheelchair (worrying, that) at a "sanatorium", putting down his life and ready to die.

Vila looks quite good in that brown suede. Better than some of the things he's had to wear.

It would’ve been more realistic if Cally had told Tarrant and Dayna to introduce themselves to Zen - probably while Avon stood nearby protesting. Having Avon do it is out of character.

That dome looks fairly real. Probably part of Oldbury power station.

He does. And he gets chamois a few times, as in that final, laced shirt which really suits him. The very devil to keep clean though.

Ha ha. Although better than if you’re North Korean, they celebrate their first birthday, the day they’re born and the second birthday on the first of January. So if you’re born on 31 December on the following day, you’re two years old. Then from there you’re two years older than if you were anywhere else in the world.

How do they work that?

For decades my father thought he was a year younger than he really was because the records in Ceylon (and by his parents) had been lost.
