Maybe she always wanted to be a mad World Dictator's cat? Travis is as near as she's managed. So far.

We'll have real drinks like Pink Asteroids and Corpse Revivers, but none of these will hurt.

Incidentally, I think I come to Blakes 7 as a fan of Star Trek, Babylon 5, etc. - it's a variant on the disparate group of people on a star-ship scenario. But I get the impression that most people here come from the British sci-fi end - from Dr Who etc.

Interesting note: Docholli was one of the dancers in the film Red Shoes.

Yes, I think that's true for most people. Whereas I have never been much of a fan of Dr Who - the all-knowing alien thing is just tedious to me.

One annoying thing in this is that they should have got everyone to pronounce Cevedic the same way. It grates for me.

Meanwhile, i like Servalan removing he heels.

Yes, I'm confused too.

Jarriere drinks from his nice, mid-70s, Siesta glass (we had those).

Krantor's white fluffy cat doesn't look impressed, unlike Stavros Blofeld's. Louella would be happier with the latter.

Agreed. DW is nowhere near as edgy as it was to begin with. It's too formulaic now. More of a vehicle for the guest actors and the merch than good writing. The people who write/wrote for DW often have a hard time getting to grips with what B7 is all about.

Travis is vaguely human in this ep., but our heroes get duped by that. They should have blotted him when they had a chance.

I find the references to him as a 'lonely god' and sim. especially annoying. The original Doctor would never have stood for that for a minute.

Really? That is awful. Even when played by actors I like, I haven't been able to stand the show since the '80s. I try again and encounter schlock.

It's easy money. Almost as much fun as a bank fraud. Mostly he enjoys the challenge of using Orac to outwit Freedom City.

Yes, I have to agree with you. Avon knows when walk away. He's more a numerical analyst who likes playing the numbers, not a gambler as such.

It's also gone like so many tv series - it tends to rely on the audience remembering a throwaway line from three seasons before. Strictly for fans only.

Blake is sidelined by everyone else in this episode. That's partly why it's fun.

Me too. I get frustrated by how much Big Finish drags Trekisms into B7. I started reading the new Spacefall novelisations and straight away it starts using warp terminology. Ugh. But they don't care...

Hi Joe Dredd! How are you? So glad that you could drop in. Yes, Avon's sentimental about money and has no intention of losing any. He only bets when he knows the odds are very much on his side. And, as AnneA said, that is the difference between Avon and Vila here.

Part of the problem with DW is that it's adults writing for kids, but using mainly adult ideas. I wish they'd ask real kids to come up with ideas about where to take DW in the future. They'd be so much better at imagining something new, not re-hashing mangled bits of history, old scifi themes etc

Blake knows that Avon and Vila weren't just sitting there - this is why it's always Jenna and Cally that are left behind. He can trust them

Yes, yes, yes! I hate it. All the people who weren't even born when the show was on and don't know the history. I squirm with this stuff. It's like the zines of old where USA-ans were writing and having no care that it is a British show (for British people. There is nothing for you here. – Another British show).
