Liberator is looking very clean and shiny today.

Somebody has been tidying up. Probably one of the women.

What! And take them off teleport duty!!

MEEGAT: I will describe the way to the scavengers camp so that you may rescue your follower.
AVON: my follower? I never really thought of her in those terms.

I bet Jenna never really thought of herself in those terms, either!! LOL

I thought you Aussies wanted rid of the bunnies?

As luck would have it we’ve already killed off a gazillion of them.

But there are loads more. I'm particularly fond of the ginger bunny that feeds on the patch of (now very dry) grass where Vernon Circle swoops down to join London Circuit and become Northbourne Avenue.

Oh yes still a lot about, more than enough for making a few furry outfits.

Confession time: it was Avon being charming in this ep that turned me into a confirmed PD groupie. I was already an Avon groupie.

I kept hoping those outside the Chancelry Building at ANU would end up undermining it. The small matter of wanting to wipe out the Vice Chancellor.

It is certainly one of his better episodes. I am not immune to his charm myself here!

Do we know what bit of rocket footage that is?

Who is Meegat? Are the keepers kept in some sort of stasis, or does each one adopt a successor from among the children of the people outside?

It's why I don't understand all the things out there that say Avon has a problem with women. Huh? Just 'cos he punched one of them. I would have too. They're just people. Why does there have to be a distinction?

Better? He becomes a god and all you can say is 'it's better'? What does the poor man have to do to impress you??

Never been an Avon (or PD groupie). But I did meet him a few times. Nice chap.

Probably impress other people a bit less! I'm too much of a contrarian (not unlike Avon, I think).

This episode seems to have left us with more questions than answers. But it is only half of the Orac story. Maybe we'll find what we're looking for on Aristo next time.

When she talks about 'her people' she says there aren't many left, but they are not the scavengers. Where they are tucked away, we never see. Presumably somewhere else underground. So they would be selected from her own group.

Underground to shield them from the radiation, I guess. That same radiation that none of our heroes seem to notice.

Lucky you. I always liked Avon's cutting sarcasm and wit, and the fact that he's a smart a***. Er, I think I mean I recognised myself. Grin

I assumed they were the survivors who remained indoors. Her ancestors knew remaining on that planet would mean their race would die off therefore they created the rocket. However there must’ve been some infighting to have killed off Kashell. However, after they had killed him off those that remained indoors waited (many generations) for assistance ‘from the star’.

AnneArthur
Anyway. Nice to see you all. See you next week when we find out what ORAC is.

M1795537OCVirn
I think Meegat did pretty well to stay on her feet, considering that legends were coming to life in front of her.

When Avon pretends there's nothing wrong with him. No Man-Flu there. Actually, Man-Flu is real. The XX chromosomes of females provide us protection against a lot of nasty things. Can't remember all the details involved, New Scientist did a good article on it.

Man-flu, scourge of the planet, devourer of worlds.etc etc. Half the population at risk, and the rest of us left to do the cleaning-up after the victims. Potential victims. Oh well.
See you all next time, I hope. Cheers. Up the Federation!

Anyway, not sure that I'll be able to join you all next week because I'll be in Noosa and probably out at dinner at the appointed time. And I really wanted to find out what OR-AC is.Sad

So, I'll see you all in a couple of weeks. Enjoy next week's rewatch. Cheers to Ensor Senior.

It's a very serious condition, and it's vital we all do out bit to avoid the onset of a mandemic.

This Public Information Film contains essential information that everyone should familiarise themselves with.

Hi everybody,
Just catching up with the thread. Usual apols for missing the rewatch, but for once I wasn't running errands. Well, one small errand (trip to the bank), but the rest of Saturday was joining the celebration of a Bat Mitzvah at synagogue and afterwards at her home for afternoon tea.

Glad you all had fun here. I enjoyed the beard discussions! Coincidentally, there was a market in our town centre on Saturday, and one of the stalls was run by this chap - The Bald Viking. We had a fun chat, 'cos hubby is rocking a bald head and mighty beard!

The in-laws have already requested me to run errands next Saturday, so I'll be missing Orac. Meanwhile -

Spoiler alert: These questions and several others have been answered by Una McCormack in her novelisation of 'Deliverance' in the forthcoming box set. The reason I know is because I proofread them Wink
