How does 'we've been in space for eight months' work? When on the Liberator it only seems to have been a few days. They must have been on the London for a long time before they rebelled.

They'd been on the London four months before their 'plan' to escape... before they found the Liberator, so yes, where did the other four months fit in?

Perhaps we are (mercifully) spared four months of them hand washing their underwear (as Obsidian says) and failing to get the Liberator controls to work - and, of course, arguing. We are brought back just at the moment that Zen accepts them.

I would quite like a bit of the domestic details and arguing over the Liberator controls! Makes it more character rather than plot-driven.

It's those little disarming moments about our Avon that tell us he isn't as driven as dear Blake is. I wouldn't vote for Blake.

Presumably Jenna did all the washing, then, this being the 70's (just). Whether she did Blake and Avon's too is open to question.

Women's Lib was in full swing in the late 70s, so I hope she told them to wash their own blimmin' undies!

Just seeing the two rooms on the London does tend to restrict things. There must have been showers and a kitchen – with staff. But I do accept that the budget didn't run to them. But other shows don't worry about details like that either if it comes to it.

Yes, she is, and the real implications of what she's asking are somewhat more than the simple words. Avon knows what it's like to kill, but he doesn't plan premeditated murder, even though it must be tempting.

Maybe we can lobby Big Finish to have someone write in some of these little extras that mean so much?? Maybe 'Origins' will let us in on some of the 'background'. If only we had a mole in the inside there.

GORDON'S ALIVE!

Saw a special screening of Flash Gordon at Hatfield University, where BRIAN BLESSED was in the audience (in the row behind me & hubby!) and afterwards did a Q&A on stage. Well, it was one question and the rest was him holding forth at great length (and great volume!) about all manner of things! I got his autograph afterwards on our Flash Gordon DVD. Brilliant evening!

There isn't time on TV to worry about the details, unless it's a long-running series or soap. It has to fill a particular time slot with plot-action-plot. That's why I like fan fic that fills in the gaps!

I actually think it's about time some of the older fan fics got a run. After all, many people have written brilliant stories in the past that I rate way ahead of the stuff Big Finish is producing.

The textiles, the Egyptian one on the altar being worth rather a lot of $$$$$ by now, the two brazier stands (Egyptian) and the ewer and basin (Turkish).
