This shot very much reminds me of the Miss Dingle character Smart plays in "Terry & June".

My lovely wife bought me the Doctor Who Classic Season 14 Blu-Ray for my birthday last week. Had the chance to sit down and watch my way through Talons of Weng-Chiang last night, which includes a wonderful appearance from Patsy 'Giroc' Smart as a disgustingly spittle encrusted old crone.
I've never seen anything like it in all my puff!

Talons of Weng-Chiang is a classic.

Personally I always found the presence of the same couch in both universes far more compelling. If Space Ikea furniture is good enough for the Sand Miners, it's good enough for the Federation Legal Department.

The furniture is definitely NOT from Space Ikea. It's a tad classier than that.

The lovely David Jackson in last nights Z Cars remarking to Jan Harvey (from Howard's Way) something along the lines that lady police officers can't handle men.......wham!! Over her shoulder went said Mr Jackson, although me thinks a stunt man may have actually been doing the throwing!!!!

I've recently finished Undermind from 1965. Apart from starring Jeremy Wilkin and episode 2 featuring Michael Gough, the only other B7 actor I spotted was Robert 'To look for those tunnels' James in episode 4... which I thought was by far the weakest link in an otherwise interesting series.

Currently enjoying Moondial and up to episode 4. Features Arthur Hewlett from The Keeper and of course, Jacqueline Pearce.

Watched the film Drake's Venture which was screened on Rewind TV on Saturday. Never realised that Paul Darrow and John Thaw had acted together on screen. Good enough movie, though in places it reminded me of Blackadder 2!

Spotted not a character but a magic trick!!!
This morning on Richard the Lionheart (dated 1960s) a magician did a magic trick for the king and what should he use? Why the same tube that Vila used in Sarcophagus for his magic trick with scarves...yes the scarves were also used but ended up as a black and white bit of material. Could the same magician have taught the young man in Lionheart as he did Michael?

Watching a lot of Space:1999 at the moment and heaps of Blake's 7 faces popping up such as Julian Glover (Kayn in Breakdown and Jarak in Alpha Child).

Helpfully the Gerry Anderson website has a pretty amazing page devoted to the cross overs!

Message from Travisina:
On BBC Sounds, came across the classic SF novel Hothouse by Brian Aldiss, read by none other than Gareth Thomas. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/b00...y/b00m9p2w
I found it by chance, perusing the BBC for Things To Listen To, found Hothouse, vaguely remembered it because I had read the book when I was about 13, and I'd not read it since - and indeed, remembered little about it other than the beginning in which 'Klat falls to the green'. Three words into the audiobook, and I thought, 'hang on, I know that voice!' and sure enough, it was Gareth. First broadcast in 2009.

Had a lovely Steven Pacey evening the other day, first with him as the thwarted developer, Michael Harrison, in yet another repeat of Foyle's War, S6 Ep3 "The Hide", and immediately after in a change of channel where he's the cop with ennui, DI Upton, in Finders Keepers (2024). I very much liked him in this, even though it's a small part.

David Haig – Forres in RoD – as Oscar Putney, the rather vile Waxworks owner in Penny Dreadful. No idea how I managed to miss this show when it came out except that it is a Sky production and I don't go there on principle. A crazy premise for the whole show and David Haig carries his role well.

That's TV is repeating Citizen Smith from Monday, featuring Stephen Greif as Harry Fenning in 12 episodes, amongst an excellent cast.

I probably shouldn’t admit to this…… but I was watching an episode of Robin’s Nest (yeah don’t ask it’s a 70s sitcom)…….. anyway there in the episode (S2E2) is Carol Hawkins. :-)

One Episode also features Judy Matheson (Mutoid, ep. Volcano). Judy's episode is ‘The Party’s Over’ .

I was watching a youtube video last night, which said that there was an alternative ending to B7 filmed which was more upbeat without the shoot out at the end, but the BBC vetoed it. Is this true or fake news?

We saw something like that on Facebook the other night. I have not checked it out but it may be yet another fan produced thing, like the new 'episode' 'Exodus' where Jonathan Helm took bits from the episode Aftermath and wove into that some new AI bits. I did see that, and it was amazing. So- can't really answer your question exactly but I'll be on the lookout for it so I can check it out myself. I can say with the influx of new fans, we are getting all sorts of new things in fandom- books, papercraft, models, and now AI episodes and things like that.

And despite the Nation connection, I can't stand The Baron. But I do remember the jag over the cliff sequence in this. Ep 1 wasn't it? We used to watch all the ITC shows watching out for that jag over that cliff.

That's correct. That Jag sequence cost sooooo much that they kept on using it in any ITC programme. They also did the same to a red Renault.
I'm quite enjoying the Baron...but I feel sorry for Mr Forrest; lured over here thinking he was going to visit all those far away, exotic places......

Finally got around to watching Parkin's Patch and The Guardians, both of which I've had for ages. Gareth Thomas is of course a series regular in Parkin's Patch and last night watching the episode The Good Listener both Tony Caunter and Patsy Smart featured. Also, in the second episode of The Guardians, in which Derek Smith is one of the main characters, Richard Hurndall appeared in a prominent role.

Spotted Souad Faress (Selma in Horizon) playing the character Sue Whybrow – a crossword compiler – in The Marlowe Murder Club 2.2. It's only possible because her hair is now white, thus giving away far less of her Syrian ancestry. I still want Selma's outfit... Grin
