Sorry I disappeared for a minute, as soon as I started watching this episode I realised I needed alcohol!!

Something green I hope.

Piña Colada actually. Not very Blake’s 7-ish but very alcoholic so it suits this episode. LOL

Sounds good to me!

Servie is looking good this week: hair clipped and dark and fabulous feathers.
Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

I find the assumption that adrenaline and soma is the drink of choice for everyone I find very lazy. It clearly ISN'T a beverage, but a medicinal tonic. At least one writer ought to have come up with a beer or G&T equivalent for the future.

Hello, I'm here, late as usual. The opening shot of this one, with the planet, is rather nice. A pity it's mostly downhill after that.

Hi AnneA. Just in time for the buddleia forest. How are you?

I'm OK - it was half-term this week, which gave me a bit of a breather, and a chance to clear a bit of the backlog. I finally got a repairman in to look at my oven, which hasn't been working for a month or two. Actually turned out to be quite straightforward - so I should have done it sooner really. There's a moral in that . . .

I also took Wednesday off, and went to Leeds to see Gilbert and Sullivan's Ruddigore, which was very enjoyable.

Your oven problem sounds like one of those annoying things where it’s really easy once you know how.

Gilbert & Sullivan – nice. :-)

The basic idea of using genetically engineered soldiers is fine, it's just the clumsy way it's. done. The episode is also rather slow, which suggests they had to drag it out.

I’m sure Vila would agree with me when I say - as long as it’s got alcohol in it…….. LOL

Perhaps the Federation has a puritanical bent - alcohol is produced for medicinal purposes only? Then repurposed by the people?

Are Dayna and Justin supposed to be wearing the same colours?? They are almost but not exactly.

I think I was dreading that they would say that I needed to buy a new cooker - but apparently a couple of new parts and it will be fine - and it can be done on the insurance. The Gilbert and Sullivan was very nice!

So unlike the current imperial war machine...

I like the idea of the Federation being restrictive, but repurposed in a bath tub ought to have produced several variants on the theme, not just one. After all, I had a few different alcoholic drinks in Iran.

Perhaps it did. Servalan and others in power can hardly be seen to be drinking illegal liquor in public. But yes, Vila should have been brewing something in a disused room on the Liberator.

One would expect self-protection to be just about second nature to anyone with any authority.

Yes, how did such an innocent survive so long in the Federation?

I think Mr. D was laughing at Vila's response and just managed to get back to straight face to deliver his lines.

Mr Virn doesn't bother watching. He would If I asked, but he's not interested otherwise.
Good old Servalan. Getting what she wants again. Doesn't matter what it costs anyone else.
