Hello everyone. In full on 'school's out' mode, I'm afraid - starting very slowly today.

I always think this episode is all about Meegat thinking Avon is a god - I forget that Servalan is in it, and that it begins the action that is completed in ORAC.

Yay another friendly face.

Taking it slow for a bit always good.

‘Forget Servalan and Orac’ LOL but I know what you mean.

I've got two weeks before the supply teaching starts again - I'm intending to recharge the batteries a bit.

Pilot53
Seen few times I got lost half way through it.
Maybe it's me I'll have to watch it again tomorrow if nothing comes up
Australia
The Penal Colony
Where Servalan is supreme commander.

Deliverance felt I missed something even though seen it multiple times, can't pin point what.

There's a lot going on in this episode. some of which gets a bit lost. There's at least three stories going on at the same time. Plus the usual infighting among the crew.

Yes, it's more like Babylon 5 in that respect. But I agree, something is lost in all the business.

OK: here's what's going on

Servalan is out to get Orraccc
Blake has forgotten Jenna
The Furry people catch Jenna (possibly for lunch)
Meegat is guarding a rocket
Vila tells everyone what to do
"You're not sulking, I hope?"

Tyce
I like that the teleport has a visual effect when it’s teleporting nobody.

M1795537OCVirn
Oh - forgot - Travis is sad about Marryat (for about ten seconds).

Well, actually Avon and Gan forgot Jenna.

Personally, I think Ensor Jnr is overacting.

This is the episode where Avon ditches his matching cagoul for the more individualistic silver one.

Blake claims he's in charge - it's his responsibility.

All this and Travis too!

Avon is a God? So she believes him to be. Never found out what happened to the people of the planet prior to Avon re setting the controls in that bunker

He wasn’t on the planet, he can’t possibly watch Jenna 24 7.

Apparently they knew something bad was coming, so they organised the rocket and all the genestock etc. Then reverted to being Furry People.

He should perhaps have noticed she was missing earlier - but yes, I think the main responsibility is with those who were on the planet with her.

M1795537OCVirn
Oh, and Servalan enjoys being mean to Travis. She also chose Marryat on purpose.

Travis - DON'T tell Servalan you have rights, you idiot.

There's a lot of radiation about on Cephlon. I'd guess some sort of nuclear accident or war.

No it isn’t. He’s not Jenna’s mother, nor is he Avon’s or Gan’s mother. They are adults they should’ve been watching where each other was while they were on a strange planet.

War, nuclear war. Civilisation collapsed, and the planet was hit with massive levels of radiation. A small group retreated underground with the gene stocks, the rest reverted to primitive.

I was wondering the same thing.... maybe they're all Avon 'shippers like Meegat.
"You're not sulking, I hope?"

M1795537OCVirn
Meegat could just have said 'You're late, mate'.

Yeah, particularly during the Aussie rewatch.

There's room for a fanfic in there - how the prophesy came about etc etc.

Don't get yourselves locked in the launch chamber, lads...oh, that's not this episode is it...

For reasons I won’t bore you with - I tried to play a tape cassette the other day. I scrounged up several cassette players and found that only one player worked. The other two were completely defunct, and the sound quality of the cassette on the remaining player was atrocious. With that in mind, I seriously doubt that a rocket could be launched 1000 or so years after it had been built.

Absolutely. But perhaps success was also prophesied.
