Yes, indeed.

One would imagine that nice white painted floor would up a little singed when it takes off.

Space Assault Troops. Another layer of the Federation's military. Given that they are "Space" one must assume some connection to Space Command, or did the left hand of the Federation armed forces not know what the right hand was doing?

It always interests me how familiar Avon/Blake/whoever seem to be with all the different groups. I know the plot needs to be moved along, but I can tell you that most people are entirely unfamiliar with the layers of politics and different departments and institutions. It just amuses me how blasΓ© the characters are "Oh yes; those are the crack troops of this arm of the BLAH BLAH BLAH."

Perhaps a history of rebellion makes them more able to identify the different troops?

Perhaps these crack troops have so little to do that they are set to whitewashing it.

How far north are you, Anne? It's warm and sunny here on Virn. And very, very green.

When Vila opened the launch doors, I'm sure I could see the constellation of Orion. Albian must be quite close to Earth.

Circuit plan - on acetate, with holes punched for a ring binder. Very Third Calendar. Or maybe they've gone retro again.

Didn't think much of Del Grant. Seeing he was Tarrents brother. Pity he got out gunned by that Cyborg....typical of Servalan's sneakiness behaviour guess that's how she became Supreme Commander & later Madam President.

Well of course it never rains on Virn, but I don't remember much sun either!

I'm in York. It's been funny weather lately - always too hot or too cold. I'm sitting here shivering at the moment, trying not to look at my fan heater.

But only Blake and Cally have any history of rebellion. I can't imagine the Federation openly advertising who their different troops were. This would assume that all the characters were very well educated and politically astute, and then well-travelled to account for their experience. It just amuses me – the taken-for-granted aspects.

Del Grant is a cool character. He's Anna Grant's brother. The existence of mercenaries adds an interesting layer of intrigue; particularly that he's working alone (bearing in mind that the program couldn't afford a cast of millions).Smile

If the pole is 4000 miles away, does that make Albian about the same size as Earth? So not a massive planet? More likely a small, close sun?

Yes, I've always found that curious. I'm sure some explanation could be given. His information can only have been gained second- or third-hand, though, presumably the same way that Avon learned that she was dead.

I find the idea of Del Grant interesting - the man himself rather dull. But what would his background be? Is he a former Space Command officer, selling his expertise?

Yes, Del Grant is Anna's brother, Anna being Avon's old flame.

Travisina is racing about trying to keep everyone happy, safe and well, as usual. Or maybe she's having her hair/teeth/nails done. Tyce is living it up on her ABBA jaunt in the UK, Mrs Bookmark often has family commitments on Saturdays. (Awaiting further surveillance reports).

He's not pompous enough to be Space Command. Maybe a terrestrial SAS type.

Blake is amazing - still impressive, even when you know what happens.

I am planning a rewatch myself sometime. At the moment I am rather invested in the tennis.

He seems quite pompous to me! But yes, more planetary experience than deep space.

We clearly move in very different circles. Grant is quite laid back. More the survivalist type without the Bear Grylls hype.
