I wish TT was here to explain....

Standing him up in front of a tobacco store goes back hundreds of years here where they put up statues of a red Indian in front of stores and the pigeons, well, you know what pigeons do to statues.

Seems to me they need saving from themselves! Is that the moral of the story?

I missed a lot of the film doing the commentary, but I'll watch again. And yes, I did enjoy that, but I enjoyed your comments even more. We are all just too clever for our own goods I think!

I think I'll take that as a compliment. Otherwise I might have to send the troopers round.

You just need to take down all your mental filters and type whatever comes into your head. Sometimes it even makes sense and is funny. I know, we all need help here.

There's not enough help in the universe for that, to be honest.

An excellent choice, CB. A bit...grim, but very influential.

I was two pages behind in reading your comments, and I didn’t have any time left for writing. Grin

Right - are we all off for a tipple at Haus Vaterland and to have a crack at the Black Bottom, so to speak?

Probably has it in the cellar at that library, among all the books they can't find room for on the shelves.

So........what next? Crud? Or another influential influence? Or a Month of Sundays contribution from M1 - she's bound to have something in that strange cupboard of hers.

Nice movie from an old days, any recent cinema has more horror, and I don't like horror for the horror itself.

Well, I'd like to do the Universal monsters at some point.

Good shout. Frankenstein would make sense, bearing in mind we've just watched proto-Frankenstein

Unless someone comes up with something for Month of Sundays or another Weimar classic, we could always think of something for the Crud Club- just have to check the films we choose are on YouTube for everyone's convenience. We've seen a few real stinkers lately- Invasion of the Animal Creatures, and last week, Teen-agers vs the Thing. We keep finding more crud and love doing it.

Happy to be swayed by the majority. That's Weimar democracy!

You'd love the Crud Club then- really cruddy movies usually from the 50's and infinitely laughable.

There are lots to choose from. And remember the cogent words of Maria Ouspenskia, even a man who is pure at heart and says his prayers by night, can become a wolf with the wolfbane blooms and the full moon shines at night.
