Avon is a God? So she believes him to be. Never found out what happened to the people of the planet prior to Avon re setting the controls in that bunker

OK: here's what's going on

Servalan is out to get Orraccc
Blake has forgotten Jenna
The Furry people catch Jenna (possibly for lunch)
Meegat is guarding a rocket
Vila tells everyone what to do

Well, actually Avon and Gan forgot Jenna.

Blake claims he's in charge - it's his responsibility.

He wasn’t on the planet, he can’t possibly watch Jenna 24 7.

Apparently they knew something bad was coming, so they organised the rocket and all the genestock etc. Then reverted to being Furry People.

He should perhaps have noticed she was missing earlier - but yes, I think the main responsibility is with those who were on the planet with her.

M1795537OCVirn
Oh, and Servalan enjoys being mean to Travis. She also chose Marryat on purpose.

M1795537OCVirn
Travis - DON'T tell Servalan you have rights, you idiot.

There's a lot of radiation about on Cephlon. I'd guess some sort of nuclear accident or war.

No it isn’t. He’s not Jenna’s mother, nor is he Avon’s or Gan’s mother. They are adults they should’ve been watching where each other was while they were on a strange planet.

War, nuclear war. Civilisation collapsed, and the planet was hit with massive levels of radiation. A small group retreated underground with the gene stocks, the rest reverted to primitive.

I was wondering the same thing.... maybe they're all Avon 'shippers like Meegat.

Meegat could just have said 'You're late, mate'.

Yeah, particularly during the Aussie rewatch.

There's room for a fanfic in there - how the prophesy came about etc etc.

Don't get yourselves locked in the launch chamber, lads...oh, that's not this episode is it...

For reasons I won’t bore you with - I tried to play a tape cassette the other day. I scrounged up several cassette players and found that only one player worked. The other two were completely defunct, and the sound quality of the cassette on the remaining player was atrocious. With that in mind, I seriously doubt that a rocket could be launched 1000 or so years after it had been built.

Absolutely. But perhaps success was also prophesied.

It does seem very unlikely. And how would the infants in the brood unit survive? Or are there people in cryogenic suspension with them, as with the aliens in Time Team?

Good question. Also if the power wasn’t on, surely the cryogenic chambers would thaw out.

More spoilers...And there's no sickly laughter about a ship full of babies in this one.

OOOO. Excellent question. So they probably had a system more like freeze drying?

Yep that’ll be it. Just add water. LOL

That ending seems rather abrupt, considering the ones we get later. But perhaps they're already thinking about Aristo and Phibians.

Great episode regardless of a few flaws. Have a great week see you next Saturday.

M1795537OCVirn
Right. The dog is bored, I'm cold and there's washing-up to be done. Time I moved on, folks. But I'll be back...if nothing else, to see if anyone 'solves' the WORD today. Honestly, I don't think it could be much easier...

Enjoy your last bit of summer, Tyce. Hopefully the Northern Hemisphere will remember that spring (and summer) are supposed to be warm.
Hope you have some good 'me' time, AnnA. How's the Will translating going?
