Rewatch Downunder Saturday 20th January A3 CYGNUS ALPHA
M1795537OCVirn
STARTING AT 8.30PM IN AUSSIELAND, 09.30 AM IN THE UK

A3 a.k.a MR SHOUTALOT GETS SORTED
Our heroes (although they haven't done much that's heroic as yet) set sail in their* shiny new ship, (heroically) aiming to rescue the people they left behind on the FCAS London. Presumably Blake sees security in numbers, although what he hopes to gain from a bunch of convicted criminals is beyond me, especially since his previous plan ended up getting several of the original group killed. They might think twice about following his lead this time.

In the end, the rescuing goes terribly well, and after some jolly japes the crew increases by...two. Not sure what happens to all the others they leave behind, but it doesn't look promising.

*for a given value of 'their'.

G'day folks. Actually, in the UK it's cold, wet and miserable outside with a side dish of melting snow. No way am I going out in this. Am wondering what it's like downunder...heard tell of heat waves, record rainfall - what's going on?

AnneA - thanks for the PM, will reply after the rewatch!.

Anyway, onwards, to Cygnus Alpha!

Hello Peeps…..

The length us Blake’s 7 fans will go to just to do a rewatch is extreme!!! I’m a couple of thousand kilometres from home but I still managed to bring my DVDs, track down a DVD player and get it plugged in and programmed into a TV. So I’m here ready and waiting. :-)

I hope you are all well.

I see you out there, Obsidian - how's things?

sorry to hear it’s so miserable up there Virn. I’m in Tassie at the moment, it’s actually about 22 degrees and sunny.

Well done, Tyce! You put the rest of the upside-downers to shame! Hope all's well with you,

I’m well, thank you. However, my mother is in hospital she’s had to have some pretty serious surgery. But having said that she’s actually doing really well and hopefully will be out early to mid next week.

I see no cows. Where'd he get that marrowbone?

Barbecued rabbit anyone??

Hi folks.

Just putting my DVD into VLC instead of Apple's DVD player, which I find annoying.

Heard about the miserable weather on Oxford radio the other day MsVirn. Definitely stay inside and let the dog walk itself.

In Tassie Tyce! A get-away would be nice – I think.

Standard procedure would be to give name and rank at the start of a message back to HQ, Leylan. Anyone might think you were talking to the camera.

Maybe there's grass somewhere.

Cygnus alpha as seen right now looks more like the scenery from Echo and the Bunnymen's "Killing Moon" video.

If the air is dosed with suppressants, how come Laylan and Artix aren’t sleepy.

You've got something against the poor man, haven't you? I just see him as someone who's so fed-up and bored with his job that he couldn't be bothered getting anything right.

Hello everyone. Glad to hear your mother is recovering well, Tyce. I was watching the Australian Open tennis tournament the other day, and the audience were all wearing thick coats. It's usually the heat they need to worry about!

M1795537OCVirn
'conceptually alien' - Blake trying to use big words like Avon....it's never going to end well.

I like the character, it's just the acting I object to.

Sorry to hear that Tyce. It explains the trip down to Tassie. Evidently important enough to keep her in a long time.

I wonder what would’ve happened if Blake had touched Jenna just at that point.

Good question. Presumably they have a separate air supply.

I would think. After all, First and Cattle Class on aeroplanes get different air.

Do we think that this is because it is night, and that it might be a bit less bleak by daylight? Maybe even some grass?

The London is really a daft-looking thing: kinda cute and clunky.

Bracelets. So whoever built the Liberator must have arms, or something like them.

My thoughts entirely, but cows still seem unlikely. Maybe brontosaurus.

Or necks, or tentacles, or just very thin bodies? But we find later that they are actor-shaped aliens.

Possibly. They seem to grow anywhere. Out of cracks in the footpath in some places (central London).

Almost certainly.

They only release the prisoners once they’ve taken off. What happens if something goes wrong with the release mechanism??

I once rented a house with a largish buddleia growing out of the garden wall. It eventually brought the wall down in a storm.
