Hello, Obsidian. How's the tax returns going?

Not onto them yet; still doing the back-log of pricing. Fortunately, found out from someone last week, the Tax Dept. doesn't like it when you lodge two tax returns at once. That's good because it takes me ages to dig out everything. It's a regular archaeological excavation to find things in this room.

Um… your lodging more than one?

A couple of years behind.

Hi, Tyce! OK here. How's 2024 so far?

Not to bad, what about you?

Got the house to myself for a week. Partay!!

Did you manage to find any Advent pringles?

No Advent ones (my family are a stingy lot) but Father Christmas dropped off a few. I'd share if I could.

Who was the Liberator fighting?

I like to think it was the Epinaarl, or the Rutans, or perhaps an advance guard of Andromedans.

What's this from JD?

It's from a six-part series called "Charters & Caldicott". C & C are two incidental characters who pop up in Alfred Hitchcock's "The Lady Vanishes". There was a bit of a history of them being written into other movies, sometimes with different names or different actors. Keith Waterhouse had a go in the 1980s, writing this series about them in retirement. I had a nice surprise when they lady's surname was mentioned.

It's been a long time since I've seen The Lady Vanishes (the original, that is). Hitchcock was good at doing incidental characters. I'm not aware of seeing that series. Of course, Rex Mottram was the pain-in-the-a brother-in-law in Brideshead Revisited.

This time I am noticing the little details, like Vila being the first to go back to his seat when the doors won't open, and Jenna going back to her seat in the launch room during the space battle - more used than the others to space turbulence.

That is when Nova is foam to death. When Jenna gets it on her hand it is shaving foam.

Tyce, it gets worse: If it's sealing gel, why is it coming out the walls? Shouldn't it come out the ceiling?

Nope - we don't charge for the refreshments. (If you want something stronger you can always sneak something in from one of the pubs (4 available).
