Made it! Was looking at stuff on FB. All the people going on about Avon going mad. Of course, they're all experts. As someone who has actually "gone mad", I consider few of them to be in a position to know what that means exactly. Speaking from experience, I would say Vila is as well.

Moving on, let's see how Avon handles it today.

I think the beauty of Blake's 7 fandom is that there is room for any number of fan theories about what motivates the characters. You can just ignore the ones you don't like.

Hi AnneA
This is true; however, when it comes to psychological illnesses I have quite a bit of knowledge. In the past, people were committed to institutions for far less than either I or Avon or Vila have experienced. It's easy to say "mad" when you don't know what it is.

No, but you can hardly blame the fans for not having that knowledge - nor, presumably, would you wish it on them. It's just fandom - it's not as if they are publishing the definitive literary study or something.

Oh dear, not good. Sorry about that.

She's the second person I want to slap, after Piri. I mean - Tarrant??

He does have appalling taste in women.

Tyce
I like how that managed to make Zukan’s and Zeeona’s outfits very similar, but serve very different purposes. His looks very uniform like and hers is quite feminine.

I can blame them for being stupid and thoughtless. I will say that it's blokes who expound on this endlessly, not wimin.

That may be the most sensible post we've had yet today.

Likewise. While I think that Nicky Rocker was quite lazy in using the Toyah Willcox hair, he did design very nice outfits for this episode.

So sorry to hear that Anne Arthur, sorry you are unwell also. I hope you feel better soon.

I do find all these frontier planets with their gaudily dressed rulers fascinating. I had a fanfic with a Federation officer from Heriol once.

AnneArthur
Oh FFS - does he look as though it's unwelcome to him, Zeeona?

The Bobbsy Twin outfits for Avon and Soolin are also really smart.

That's the killer thing about it, though. It looks soppy and it sounds soppy. Are we sorry?

I like Soolin's amusement when Avon says that he is prepared to sacrifice her. She is a match for him, and knows it.

Well, it's Tarrant, so yes, I do, on the whole.

For me, it's one line he doesn't get quite right. I didn't believe him, so why should she?

He's an interesting character. I like his speech about Betafarl's permanent day - he clearly wasn't born there, but seems to have conquered it. It would be interesting to know in what circiumstances.

Oh come on Soolin could shoot all those guards in a space of three seconds, without even blinking.

Soolin is interesting in this ep. She's tough, clearly equal to Avon; supports him but also thwarts him when she believes she's seeing injustice.

And it's the end for Betchworth quarry, too.

If Zukan is complaining about the bad dreams, he has when he does nasty things and why doesn’t he just stop doing nasty things?

Such a pity she didn't have time to develop the character further.
