45th Anniversary rewatch - D6 Headhunter

Alpha Grade Posts: 9299 Joined: 16.01.22	The episode: Derek Six – Headhunter (Carry On, Don’t Your Lose Head) * The date: Tuesday, November 7th, 2023 The time: 7.45pm UK time * an actual Carry On film (and it featured Jacqueline Pearce!) A reminder of the Season Derek drinking game, with one special addition for this episode: Here’s the number of sips/swigs per each of these: Avon is knocked unconscious 1 A scientist dies (per scientist) 5 A member of the main cast wears the same costume as last week (per costume) 2 There’s the sequence (or part of the sequence) of Scorpio landing / taking off at Xenon Base 3 Vila drinks something red (per scene) 10 Tarrant falls in love 5 Soolin shoots someone (per person) 5 Slave says “sorry” (each mention) 1 Each mention of “Sleer” 2 Avon laughs manically and/or smiles inappropriately 5 There’s a downbeat ending in sharp contrast to the jangly end theme 10 The final shot of the episode includes Paul Darrow 3 A member of the main cast is killed or stunned (per cast member) 1 bottle of wine / 1 can of beer Muller’s android bellows: “WHERE IS ORRRRRRRRRRRAC!” (each mention) 3 Back to a really fun episode, which was also the inspiration to the Where’s Wally series of books. Also, Muller decides to build an android – he should have stuck to his yoghurt business, because he sets a new record in dying as a scientist. Episode in a word: Android. Character to cheer: Soolin really shines from this episode onwards. She’s terrific here, with her dry sense of episode, be it finding Vila hiding in a cupboard, or keeping Orac from the Muller android. Also fair play to Avon, who isn’t prepared to let Vila and Tarrant die. Character to boo: Orac for the opposite reason to Avon – the cold-hearted lump of plastic is quite willing to sacrifice Vila and Tarrant. Is Soolin looking lovely this week: Yes. Recognisable Face: Lynda Bellingham (Vena) is perhaps the most famous face ever to appear in Blake’s 7 – of course, she was the Oxo Mum! (she also appeared in Doctor Who, but that’s nowhere near as impressive). Best exchange: ORAC: “Join us, Soolin. We can fulfil your every desire.” SOOLIN: “You wouldn't know where to start.” Blake's 7 will return in “Carry On Killing Piri.” Vote Og.

Alpha Grade Posts: 3036 Joined: 16.01.22	I haven't seen this for a while. Last year it coincided with my Garden Club meeting. If I remember I used to get a bit confused about what was happening. Perhaps I will get some clarity this time around!!!😀 I look behind me, what do I see? A pair of golden wings seem to be attached to me.
