Rewatch Downunder Saturday 27th May B9 Countdown
M1795537OCVirn
Start times, 7.30pm Downunder, 10.30am UK.

Countdown - in which Avon steals the show, along with a new character who ought to have joined the crew. The girls mind the ship as usual, while Blake is 'forced to kill' the helpful Federation officer who gives him the information he asked for. There's rebel gratitude for you!.

Sadly, the Supreme Commander does not make an apearance this week as she is busy preparing her wardrobe for the next seven episodes.

Hello, and I'm actually first here. Hope all is well with the Downunders. Not too cold and rainy for you? The weather here is fantastic! Sunny, warm and dry....the merry month of May at its best.
And so to Countdown. Is this your favourite episode? Care to say why?

Hi MsVirn
Just looking at THE WORD.

This is not my favourite but I still like it a lot. That's despite dumb things like rockets sitting horizontally in cradles inside rooms...

Hi Pilot. Right on time! Sorry to hear that you've got slipped discs on top of everything else. Hope you're feeling relaxed for this episode.

Hi, Pilot. We missed you. Sorry to hear you're in pain. Perhaps a bit of escapism will take your mind off it for a while. Glad you can join us.

Why use diplomacy when it's imperative to support the military industrial complex?

I think Vila's the only one ever to point out that ORAC may have all the answers but no hands to carry them out. Keep up the physiotherapy!

They need the slabs with great big buttons and numbers.

Hello everyone. Warm and sunny here too - the weather has obviously not noticed that it's a bank holiday weekend. Sorry to hear about your sciatica, Pilot.

This is an odd good episode in season 2's mid-season slump. Back to poor again next week with Voice from the Past. But I have never really understood the love for Del Grant. I can live without him in the crew quite well.

Hello Anne. Glad you could join us. Sunbathing can wait, eh?

Hi AnneA. I can live without him in the crew also. I think the fascination is purely a result of his link with Avon. But Tom Chadbon does have a very distinctive voice, which makes him notable.

Sunbathing this afternoon. And with no work on the houses they are building behind my house, either.

Seen that ship before, too.

Ah. Obviously I am immune to this charm - I was just thinking what a dull voice he has!

Although it would be interesting to speculate how Rumours of Death would have gone with him around.

Thanks very much Pilot. I'm in the process of getting a new website built. Like the present one, it's proving to be a pain. Avon's line "I relied on other people" comes to mind often.Smile

Not my personal fascination, but he is an interesting character with bags of potential.

Blake has met the Thane of Cawdor.

Come on, Blake. People numbers will recover whether you want them to or not. Replacing infastructure costs money. The Federation couldn't put up with people objecting to the rules. Solium is the perfect answer.

Korda is a good character, too, but he couldn't join the Liberator crew - Blake wouldn't tolerate anyone who was better at leadership than he is.
