I like Soolin being not remotely afraid of Avon.

She's SO good.

Those two together works well in terms of strategy etc, but never a romantic relationship. At least, not until they've been through a lot more together, and that's not going to happen, is it?

They'd make very good partners in a Starsky and Hutch (dare I say Demsey and Makepeace?) style.

What had GB done before B7? Did Paul teach her everything she knows about partnerships?

Just had a quick wiki-look. Not much beforehand.

Me too. I can't understand why people don't.

I can’t understand why people don’t like Blake, each to their own, I guess.

The action on the base is quite scary, especially with Vila losing it and Tarrant getting nasty at him.

I think you know which mine is. I don't dislike the rest of them, it's just that JP outclasses the lot of them. And she knows it.

I don't agree with how Blake does things, but as a character he's exactly what he's meant to be and well acted.

They're both frightened. What I think is interesting is that Zeeona is sidelined - when the chips are down, Tarrant belongs with his crewmates, not with her. I think that's part of why she killes herself.

Sacrificial suicide? I always thought it was a stupid accident, the sort of thing anyone might do (if they hadn't been trained to suit discipline from earliest childhood, of course).

Why does Zeeona have to do anything on the base when they’re just gonna blow it up an abandoned it anyway.

Well, that is how I see a lot of what happens as this series progresses: people being frightened and having been so for a long time, suffering from multiple traumas. The different personalities respond differently. Complex Post-Traumatic Syndrome.

I mean, it's not as if those gloves are sealed in. A thing like that couldn't have stopped anything airborne.

It is also possible that Avon and Zeeona both know that the procedure is too delicate to do with a glove on, and that is why she volunteers.

Agreed. Avon knows how she considers herself as somehow responsible for her father's actions (even though I'd be more inclined to think that the bombs etc were not his idea but that of his side-kick).

Interestingly, if you look at the helmet on Zeeona it DOES have a flexible piece covering the neck unlike the way we see them in Headhunter with the necks bare.

Can anyone remember where the fic is where Zeeona doesn't kill herself but becomes part of the crew, and it makes the difference between life and death on Gauda Prime. Is it in Scorpio Tales?

Tyce
What fun. Did we make a decision on Blake yet? I’m happy with whatever others decide and I’ll try my best to be there - certainly I’ll try for 9pm even if I can’t make it by 8:30.

Darker and darker. So what do you want to do about the timing for 'Blake'?

Oh, and I was supposed to give apologies from Travisina, she had a hair appointment today.

No idea, but does she become the thing that they've been searching for (besides Blake, that is), i.e., the scientist capable of brewing an antidote to Pylene-50?

Does that mean she's another scientist that dies? That would need another 5 swigs in the Drinking Game.

I don't think I can do any time tho' I will try. I've got the family here and my brother's mattress will be where I am currently. Maybe I could do it on my ipad and TV. but getting away from the chat might be difficult. The rest of you decide and I'll see what I can do.

She says she is one but she could be fibbing. I'd be inclined to add more swigs anyway. Grin

The UK 'Blake' is on the 21st, the anniversary of its first screening. Do you want to change days? Or just get up at some unearthly hour to join them?

I was wondering about doing it then. Knowing the way things have been going lately, I could still be awake when you are doing Blake Day.

They'd be honoured to have you!

Otherwise, Aussies, I can set the thread up for Saturday, (half an hour later if that helps). Just let me know.

Well, will we go with the Saturday usual time and see what eventuates? At least you UK folks can do your rewatch and if we southern lot don't make it by Tyce's 9pm, then you've got the day free or you can rewatch again.

Sound good MsVirn. I'm happy with that and will just have to call it Blake's 7 secret-sacred hour.
